How Does Your Garden Grow?

I was hoping these shoots were the Fern Leaf Bleeding Hearts. Nope. Pl@nt.net identified them as Red Maple.

Full moon with a halo. That means snow

This is what we woke up to on Friday morning. A dusting of snow

This is what we woke up to on Saturday morning. Nearly 4 inches of snow!

This is why I don't do a countdown to the First Day of Spring

Spring in New England wet and cold like Winter, just not as much snow

I'm glad I didn't put my snow shovel in the garage

I hope the daffodils make it.

On my way to fill the back birdfeeder, little birdy feet.

Calli was sitting very still. At first, I thought she was sleeping sitting up. It took me a little bit to see what had captured her interest. A mourning dove was hanging out in the Japanese Maple.

  1. I think we are done with snow this year. In fact, it's supposed to get to 90 F today. Not a good day to fight my taxes! I would gladly take YOUR weather over mine!

  2. That is not a fun april surprise. It has been cool here, no snow, and the trees are turning green and flowering, so it has been pretty

    1. Hopefully after the snow melts, that will happen here, too.

  3. It seems to be one step forward to spring and two steps back to winter for you. You'll appreciate it all the more when spring does finally settle in, when it will nearly be summer!

  4. Yup, the snow is NOT welcome. You had a little more than we did yesterday, but of course today it is still white out there. It's weird to think that March was nicer than April has been. Have a great rest of your weekend.

  5. Snow is insulating and should help the Daffodils make it... Maybe the Bleeding Hearts like warmer soil and may wait a bit to come up... maybe they are not early risers... I've beed weedeating and mowing weeds...keeps me busy... uuugh.. Hugs! deb

    1. Anne told me the same thing about the Bleeding Hearts that they are late bloomers

  9. Oh no, on that snow! Ugh! Not too far north of me, there was snow. April has decided to be just as fickle as March. And the Bleeding Heart shoots will start as green. Daffodils are tough, so they can be snowed on, and it doesn't hurt them. - Anne (Cornucopia)
