Doodling for Stress Reduction

On Mondays via Zoom, I participate in a class where we spend  a half an hour doodling our stress away.  Last Monday, the class was cancelled. Bummah.

Last Friday, I signed up to take a Zentangle class. Besides a .pdf for the class, the instructor also sent a .pdf for beginning Zentangles. (If you're not familiar with Zentangles, you can read about the process here.) It's been awhile since I played with Zentangles so I practiced some of the patterns from the instructor's notes along with various "strings" (the pencil pattern to divide the paper called a tile) like the peacock.

Have you tangled with Zentangles?

  1. I haven't, but I might. The video makes it look so simple.

    1. It's doodling on steroids. Very easy. Use some of the Zentangle patterns or make your own repetitive patterns

  2. I've tangled with zentangles. Every now and again I play in a journal I keep near the couch. It is relaxing. I like all your pretty penwork too. Stay warm and don't blow away this morning. hugs-Erika

  6. I made ONE zentangle in my life and it was the most stressful thing. I am ONE person who hates them because of my arthritis. Your doodles are adorable.

    1. I think part of the problem, at least for me, are the "rules" of the materials, steps, and process. I don't really bother with the rules.
