Monet and Me

are trying to bring the Peace Lily plants back to life. I'm not sure if the plant was killed with kindness because one watering I also add a splash of plant food, or if the studio got too cold. The plant was not looking happy.

On a trip to the Dollar Store, I bought 2 new pots, added drainage holes, some rocks, potting soil and split the plant into two. I also relocated the plants to the kitchen.

It's been about 3 weeks since the transplant and the Peace Lilies aren't dead, yet, Jim.

  3. Hmmmm... PeaceLilies don't need alot of light... and they are very forgiving... If you forget to water them they will droop but as soon as you do you can almost stand there and watch the leaves rise again... If i remember right... they do not like wet feet.... let them dry out a little between waterings... They do not like salt in the water.... If you have a water softner or even just your tap water that has a higher than usual salt content... There... thats all i know about a Peace Lily.... lol Hugs! deb

    1. I always waited for the leaves to droop, for the plant to tell me it needed water. I had heard about the salt content in water. We have a water softener that uses salt so I switched to distilled water. No direct sunlight, too.
