How Does Your Garden Grow?

Dozens of bees were loving on the goldenrod.

A bluejay stopped by to take a drink.

I was excited to find the wooly bear caterpillar. Supposedly, wooly bears can predict Winter weather. If their middle, brown band is narrow, we're in for a bad Winter. This guy's brown band is wide. I'm hoping that means we're in for a mild Winter. This wooly bear was no more and joined the choir invisible. I wonder if it's still able to make weather predictions and if the predictions are still valid?

One of the bunnies lounges in a cool spot to get out of the heat this week.

And look what finally bloomed just in time for frost.

Today is the first of the month. Rabbit, rabbit white rabbit. Autumn has arrived.

How does your garden grow?

  1. Wow. Just when you had given up, this beauty appears. There won't be frost anytime soon in my world, but after reading Erika's blog post today, it appears it has already hit in your area.

I LOVED the photo of the bunny resting near Ink's memorial. It was a great photo. And of course, I simply adore your black cat Howloween flag.

    1. I had given up all hope of morning glory flowers. We're expecting some warm weather later this week so maybe they will last a little while longer. The bunny is so funny just sacking out in the shade.

  2. What a beautiful post! I loved seeing all the bees on the Golden Rod and your bunny basking in the shade 😀. I've never heard of a Woolly Bear before and I enjoyed hearing the story and weather prediction, so I looked them up on the internet and was surprised to hear we get them over here too, I'll have to keep my eyes open ...lol 😉 . Wow, your morning glory looks so beautiful and the Halloween sign is amazing - I love it! Wishing you a very Happy Sunday! J 😊

    1. I was happy to see all the bees, too. Haven't seen many of them around this year. There's a fella on the other side of town that keeps bees. He had told me that a couple of the hives suffered colony collapse, a diseas that attacks the bees. Maybe the bees have recovered. Hope you find a wooly bear.

  3. I can never remember how the middle is suppose to be for wooly bear caterpillar so I am glad you straightened me out. And hurry for wide! A nice mellow winter, and hopefully SHORT makes me happy! Your garden is looking great. The bunny must feel safe to lounge that way. Hugs-Erika

  4. Your garden is still looking good. I don't know those wooly bear caterpillars, never seen one here, but I hope it's right and we all get a mild winter, that would be great. Here it was sunny but cool and windy, so I stayed home again. Have a good, new week, hugs, Valerie
