How Does Your Garden Grow?

What's this in the Meadow? A weird egg? Nope, neighbor kids soccer ball.

The Leaf Lady's husband repaired the down section of the fence from last week, but heavy winds knocked down three more sections.

Junk waiting for the junk man to pick up. Bye-bye swingset. Such happy memories.

Bye-bye wavy slide and rotted remnants of the sandbox.

In the very early hours of the morning, I caught the cardinal hanging out at the birdfeeder. He even waited for me to get my camera so I could take a picture of him through the sunroom window.

The yellow slide and remnants of the sandbox are gone.

Either the junk guys did not understand take everything from the side of the house or the fact that the truck they brought was already half full, and I had a full truck's worth of sh stuff.I told them to never mind the stuff in the garage because I could see it would never fit in the truck. Deep sigh. At least, they took the weigh-a-ton televisions, two love seats, and the treadmill. Maybe we should check on the dumpster bags from the big Orange Box store.

The leaves on the Japanese maple are tenacious. Shriveled and brown, but still hanging on even through some gusty winds.

And because snow here is measured in feet and not inches, seemed like a good time to put out some Christmas decorations. The bells that line the walk are motion sensor and will play Christmas carols when you walk by. That's the theory. Hasn't been tested yet.

How does your garden grow?

  1. Sorry you didn't manage to get rid of all your junk. I need to clear my basement, but it will have to wait for next year. I still have a few straggly blooms on my balcony, and the variegated clover is still doing surprisingly well, too. Enjoy your Sunday, hugs, Valerie

  4. Sounds like you had some nasty winds!
You did some serious cleaning out.
Don't you just love cardinals? They brighten everything just by being.
Hope your day has been filled with sparkle and your night's slumber is deep and peaceful.

    1. I heard a legend that says a cardinal means a loved one who has passed and seeing one means they have stopped by for a visit. I always think of my folks when I see the cardinals. Thank you for your sentiment

  5. It is so sad to get rid of the swingset. I remember doing that. Even this past spring we found the Little Tikes slide and when we gave that to a new home it was hard. Hard to believe those days are gone. Not that they are bad now though. Just memories are bittersweet. Happy new week. Hugs-Erika

  6. I would have taken those ladders. They would make great additions to my herb garden. But I can tell you were on a mission, so I applaud you.

Love the cardinal, especially since my main floor bath is decorated with them in all shapes, sizes, and materials.

  7. Wow, those winds must have been strong to take down your fence again. Well done for decluttering, it must be sad to see the swingset go with all those happy memories but also so satisfying getting things sorted out too 😁. The red cardinal looks very happy on your bird feeder and I adore your Christmas caroling bells - perfect 😁. Have a great new week! J 😊

    1. I didn't think the winds were that strong, but the fence which belongs to my neighbor is old and rickety.

The caroling bells are cool. I want to see if I can get a video of them working. Blog fodder

    1. I laughed about the fence, too. A bit of Schadenfreude, shameful joy. We've had problems with this neighbor.
