Only I had a hard time picking out just 10 movies so my favorites over the next few hundred Saturdays 😸 in semi-alphabetical order:
Saint Joan (1957) Richard 😻 Widmark, Jean Seberg
Aaaaah, another film that passed me by! Have a fun weekend, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHaven't reached the end of the alphabet yet
DeleteI don't think I've seen this movie, but it looks good.
ReplyDeleteA different role for Richard Widmark
DeleteHappy Saturday-not familiar with this one. enjoy the weekend
ReplyDeleteI will. The sun is out! 🌞
DeleteI don't know this one either. Happy weekend CJ!
ReplyDeleteThere's always next week and a happy weekend as the sun is out!
DeleteWaaaaaay different role for Widmark! ;)
ReplyDeleteI like to think of the character as Tommy Udo before he grew up 😺
DeleteOtto Preminger directed that one. Seberg was perfect as Joan of Arc. There've been a kajillion films celebrating her life. Have you seen the 1928 silent? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Passion_of_Joan_of_Arc ...but I realize you probably watched yours for Widmark :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've seen the silent film. I have seen the Joan of Arc (1948) with Ingrid Bergman in the title role. And yes, I only watch this Joan of Arc for Widmark 😻

Thank you. You, too.
DeleteI don´t know this movie CJ, sure it is interesting. Shall see what is on TV this night, because since 15th of March, we watch movies on TV, or at Netflix :)
ReplyDeleteHave a very nice evening and Sunday, stay safe and well,
Big hugs,
Caty
We've been doing the same. Watching Netflix, Amazon Prime, Starz, and our local news.
DeleteAnother film I've never heard of. Not even heard of some of the actors, either. OH well (sigh)!
ReplyDeleteStill more movies on my list. 😊
Deletewow never have I ever - ....heard of this movie.
ReplyDeleteIt's old and I don't think one of Widmark's better movies. He played heavies, anti-heroes, and this film was a very different role than he usually played.
Deleteso i take it you are an old movie lover... well not old i mean a lover of old movies ..but what do I know..maybe you are old too, lol, like me.
DeleteI love old movies, and I'm old. 😺
DeleteNo … not seen this one.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Still a lot of movies left on the list
DeleteFor some reason, I think I have seen this one with my mom.
ReplyDeleteThere's another version with Ingrid Bergman as Joan
