1. The atomic clock automatically changed to standard time by itself. The first atomic clock I've owned that I didn't have to change manually.
2. Finally let go of some of my mother's things. Someone in town was looking for a Department 56 village for her 8 year old daughter. My parents had a generic village with a couple of the Department 56 pieces. The lady was thrilled and took all 4 boxes.
3. Another person from town was looking for a twin bed. Another item gone and the Swedish death clean begins.
4. Errands and lunch out. No cooking!
5. Got my hair cut, and I feel as if I lost weight.
How was your week?
Purging is good for the soul! (Husband always says when I get in my purging mood he has to hold on tight or else he might end up at the curb! LOL)
ReplyDelete😺 That's funny. Himself has to hang on to the things he needs/wants to keep. It's so much easier to purge other people's stuff
DeleteI love when you can pass o. Items to other people. But I hate the term Swedish death clean. I k is it means what it says, but it does sound gruesome. 😬. Sounds like a good week and stay dry! I heard it’s raining a lot at home.
ReplyDeleteYup, we're in for some high winds and heavy downpours. Not as bad as the October Nor'easter. Some areas like the Berkshires and far north NH and VT might see some snow tomorrow when a cold front rolls through.
DeleteI'm more of hang on to things person, Clearing out is sooooo hard! Have a great weekend, Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt is hard, but it's a shame items sit in closets or drawers and aren't being used. Better if someone else can love them and put to good use
DeleteYay to no cooking.
ReplyDeleteI think that's one of the best little things
DeleteThat was a nice bed. So glad it went to someone who appreciates it, too. I plan to purge in either December or January, but first, I need to take stock of what I have and what I want to get rid of. It won't be furniture, but mostly junk I've salvaged from someone's recycle bin.
ReplyDeleteNo cooking is good. Speaking of haircuts, mine needs it so badly. It's been six months since I got one. I will probably lose a pound or two as a result (grin).
We'll be making those decisions on the fly.
DeleteGood productivity. You deserved lunch out😘
ReplyDeleteI know, right? 😺
DeleteDid you know Braunschweig makes the time for Europe? We have a huuuuge atomic clock that sends the signal to Frankfurt and from there all over Europe :-)
ReplyDelete"Henry" makes the time over here.
Good on cleaning out. In 2012 I worked looong hours to get every Thursday off to help my Brother getting rid of our parent´s stuff so he can use the house.
When I had to stop (winter and getting a "princess-treatment" like that) my Brother stopped.
He bought a new house and I have no idea what´s with our family home. Sad.
Being the "big Sis" I even feel a tad responsible.
I´ve never seen a twin bed!
Ohhhh, you must have wonderful hair then! Mine is so thin I don´t feel a difference when Ingo cuts it down.
Pic?
My week was OK. I procrastinated with the darn taxes, LOL. And got the info I´ll start work on 22nd! Scary-interesting, exciting.
I thought Greenwich in England made the time for Europe so that's cool that your city sets the time.
DeleteA twin bed is half the size of a regular, full-size bed which measures 75 inches long and 54 inches wide
wow, you are getting rid of stuff. I have a table and four chairs in my storage in the backyard ...really nice and I just haven't done anything with it. I just saw a local forum on FB where people will start posting what they need and others will see if they can help them by giving something away or for sale, either way sounds like a good exchange.
ReplyDeleteMy town has a Freecycle Facebook page, that's where someone posted looking for the bed. I live on a main road, I could have put the bed at the end of the driveway and someone would have picked it up before I got back to the house.
DeleteLetting go of things is easier when someone else wants them. What a pretty bed!
ReplyDeleteThe bed was the Young One's "big girl bed". We found it at a second hand shop in town called Grandma's Attic.
DeleteGlad the items are going to people who will use them and cherish them!
