The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. We celebrated Father's Day with lobster rolls and homemade brownies

2. Weather at Stonehenge cooperated this year so I  watched the spectacular live feed of the Summer Solstice sunrise.

3. Had a surprise phone call from my friend, S, from California. Please keep her in mind as there is a wildfire burning close to her home.

4. I received a lovely note from my cousin.

5. Called the groomer and got an appointment for the kitties the following day!

How was your week?

    - Found three Swarozski crystal animals that i collect at an antique mall on my birthday... for a good price!
    - Daughter feeling better after mysterious illness... seems to be the fact she went cold turkey off of heavy caffeine usage....
    - Spent an entire glorious day in craft room
    - A friend who doesn't visit often at our home came over and gave him the grand tour of all my art........

    1. Because Quill doesn't like to be picked up and held and he's very squirmy when one tries to hold him, I take the kitties to a groomer to have their nails trimmed.
You had a great week. I'm glad your daughter is feeling better. Happy Birthday! 💐🎂

    2. OOooooo.... we were so lucky... I turned on the bath water in the tub and Jinx would come running... He loved a bath.. I could turn him upside down under the running faucet to rinse off his belly.. crazy.. Now claw trimming he got wrapped in a towel and even then it was all hands on deck..lol

  3. You had a great week CJ. I did too, although I was busy. This weekend looks like real summer. And next year I should check out the sunrise at Stonehenge. It sounds interesting to me also. Hugs-Erika

    1. Yeah, that was upsetting to hear her say, she packed a couple of bags and left them by the door just in case they have to evacuate.

  6. Kitty grooming? I've had cats but never had them groomed.

My week has been filled with watching the treason hearings and now hearing the SCOTUS decision. Scary :(

    1. There's all sorts of treatments: bathe, fluff, but I only have the kittie's claws trimmed. Quill squirms and freaks out so better to let someone who knows what she's doing (not me) take care of things

  7. sounds like a good week. I didn't know there was a fire burning out here now I'll have to check the news. Hope it's getting contained quickly.

    1. I hadn't heard about it until she told me. I think news on the East Coast has been about the Insurrection Hearings and the SJC striking down Roe v. Wade.

    2. Yeah probably because of that - ...i had checked and the biggest wildfire happening on that date was a fire up in Kern County which I didn't know about. I never watch news unless it comes thorugh a feed of mine. i had no idea.

  8. I hope your friend weathers the fires that are raging there.

My boys don't get their nails clipped after I did Bleubeard's for a year and still have the scars to prove it. I can't afford to have my two anesthetized in order to do the procedure.

Sounds like a good week for you, if not so much for the wee ones.

    1. The groomer does not anesthetize the kitties. She is well trained. Knows how to hold them, keep them calm, and still so she can do her job. It takes me longer to herd them into their carriers than it does for the groomer to clip their claws.
