Whatcha Doin?

Last night just before the electricity went out, I thought I heard the tail end of a news story that USPS is raising stamp prices. So, I'm checking to see if it's true and when the increase occurs.

Yuppers, it's true. USPS is raising prices from 68 cents to 73 cents per ounce for First Class postage. The rate increase takes effect on July 14, 2024. Still time to go to the Post Office and stock up on stamps at the lower 68 cent rate.

Whatcha doin?

  1. We were able to use our lower priced stamps for quite a few years and then Royal Mail put an end to it quite recently.

    1. People started to complain about not being able to use postage with out penny stamps. So they now issue Forever stamps. Whatever price the mail goes up, the Forever stamps can be used.

  3. They are going to nickel and dime us to death.... I'm good until they reach $1 after that i may have to rethink things... They are caught between a rock and a hard place.. They have to raise prices to survive and i will stop using the USPS if they get too expensive.. and for me $1 a letter is crazy. Hugs! deb

    1. It's a tough decision though I think we're still cheaper than other countries to mail a card

  4. They are just ridiculous! Last week, they never even bothered to pick up our mail for TWO DAYS that had to go out. They suck. :(

    1. If you're leaving mail in your mailbox and you're not a business, I was shocked to find out, the mail carrier is not required to pick up your mail. If something has to go out, I take it to the post office

    2. I've known this for years. If my flag is up, but I'm not getting any mail that day, the postal carrier has to walk about 10 feet from my mail box, but will not stop. I've had mail sit in my box for two days as a result of this rule. Our carrier walks house to house, unlike yours who drives his/her truck down the road.

  5. You'd THINK with all the price increases over the past few years DeJoy wouldn't have to make all the cuts he's making...☹️

  8. It seems USPS is raising prices every six months now. I read about it in the paper this morning. Five cents is quite a bit! Thankfully I still have tons of forever stamps.
