How Does Your Garden Grow?

One bright spot about the loss of Summer and the pains of Hell Winter

is the best holiday of the year, Halloween (and Ink's birthday)

Coleus gone to seed

A carpet of red leaves

And just like that the leaves

changed color

On the way home, Himself pulled over to the side of the road so I could take a picture of the magnificent sunset from the farm at the top of the hill.

How does your garden grow?

  1. Antirrhinums and nasturtiums are still going strong, lavatera and buddleija are over. Roses and honeysuckle persist, which is nice.

  2. Our leaves are still hanging on. We've had no frost yet, so they're still mainly green.

  4. SunFlowers are slowly going to seed. Sad to see them go... As always they've been a bright spot for me all Summer... What great pictures you posted... Love the sunset! The kiddies helped decorate for Halloween... they don't do much at home in their apartment so i know they had a blast.. Littlest helped wash the pumpkins before putting out and Eldest washed the skeletons... even brushed their teeth...lol yes i have photos...hilarious... Oh i wish the leaves turned color down here.. more often than not they turn brown and drop off.. BUT the Sumac will put on a show... Hugs! deb

  6. We are still waiting for the leaves to change color. The weather has been just too weird - humidity and rain for days on end. Maybe that is why - idk?

I love your Fall flags and Happy Heavenly Birthday to Ink!

    1. Yeah, too much rain and you need really cool nights for the leaves to turn. Ours were stressed by drought.

  8. That's a great flag CJ. I had the hubby help me get my box of Halloween decorations out today. In some ways I'm ready for a frost because I'm ready to clean out the garden and be done for the year, but in other ways so far this fall has been so lovely, I just want it to continue. Have a super start to the new week.

  10. You are right. I need to look where I - in a weak, nasty moment - bought and put that Autumn-sign and get it on the shelf. Denying is no option, huh.... 256 days...
