How Does Your Garden Grow?

Unbelievably high temperature on November1. Our normal highs are what is predicted for Saturday. No complaints. We got to spend a pleasant evening in the sunroom. Not many more evenings there in the forecast.

Sitting on the bottom right of the photo was what I thought might have been a squirrel. When I moved closer to the window to see if I could get a better  look, it turned out to be a hawk. It flew away into the woods.

Oak trees still holding onto their leaves

Plant identifier identified this red bush as a burning bush. We did not plant it. The Leaf Lady has a whole bunch of them along her fence line. Wind, bird, or animal reseeded it for us to enjoy

Forsythia leaves

Nasturtium

Cornflowers

and Cosmos still going strong

The Japanese maple hasn't lost all its leaves yet.

  1. Friday's wind brought down a lot of the oak leaves around my house, but there's still some. It was just gorgeous, and this morning it is really really chilly here. First frost for us, or at least first frost I've noticed.

    1. It really is a beautiful tree. Thanks to my dad for starting a twig from the tree in his yard

  3. The trees seem to be hanging onto their leaves this year. I expect they'll all drop if we have a heavy frost.

  5. We received 2" of rain when we were expecting only a trace so no complaints here... except maybe the storm that came with it scared the Grandlittle who was spending the night with Granny. We were up late drinking tea and playing CandyLand by flashlight... then slept on a blow up mattress in the living room under a tent of sheets that Grandpa made for us.. I'm sure she still has visions of Grandpa out in the storm chasing pumpkins...lol Hugs! deb

    1. We could use the rain. Awww, I hope she remembers camping out at Granny's. Sounds like it was a lot of fun.
