How Does Your Garden Grow?

The morning glories and moonflowers are still hanging in. Doesn't seem to be much change in growth since they were planted. One moonflower doesn't look well

Two inches of rain last week and more rain predicted for the beginning of this week.

Morning glories, moonflowers, and milkweed still growing behind Ink's garden.

A Gypsy Moth caterpillar munches on a milkweed plant. The pests are predicted to be voracious this season.

With all the rain, weeds have poked through the Zensical garden even though landscaper's cloth was put down before the stone.

The snowball bush in the foreground is making a come back. Last year, when the water softener was installed, a constant salt backwash drained into the bush. I thought the bush was gone forever.

  2. This sun is GLORIOUS. I could garden all day, but I better not overdo it yet. I bet your plants will enjoy the sun too. Maybe too much rain is slowing them down. Not sure, but the milkweed will spring up soon I bet. You'll have monarchs later this fall. :) Happy beautiful Sunday. Hugs-Erika

    1. It was beautiful puttering around outside for an hour. Hope you're right about the plants springing up soon.

  3. By mid summer you'll be up to your armpits in flowers! :D

  4. I love your garden updates. I put some of that landscape cloth down one year and the weeds and Bermuda grass still poked through. It took forever to get the rocks I added raked away. I certainly learned my lesson. I put black plastic down the next time, and the barrier was much better.

    1. I'll have to remember that next time. In the meantime, I'll just have to be more vigilant about pulling the weeds if it ever stops raining.
