Found this guest resting on the house by the front door. According to Wikipedia this moth is a Dryocampa rubicunda and they like maple trees.
Hopefully, the caterpillars of this creature won't be as destructive as the Gypsy Moth infestation we had last year and predicted worse for this year.
Isn't nature impressive? Such beauty can cause such destruction. I hope this one is not hard on the maples in your area.
