The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. Enjoyed the day at the MFA with Nan

2. Saw a high school friend pop up on Facebook. I sent her a thinking of you email, and she called in the evening. We had a very long chat catching up.

3. The Eldest came home after spending the weekend at Connecticon, an anime convention. She had texted me a picture of a Dalek (arch-enemy of The Doctor from Doctor Who) and brought us a poster of Mr. Spock with a black cat. If the kitty had black whiskers, he could have been Ink.

4. Burning allergy eyes and my usual Bausch and Lomb OpCon A eye drops just weren't working. Tried the Zaditor eye drops recommended by my eye doctor. Ahhhh. How do you spell relief?

5. We finally found an Outback that was still open where we could use gift cards. The Eldest had picked the restaurant for her birthday dinner. I finally got my surf and turf, a steak with coconut shrimp.

How was your week?

  1. Sounds like a relatively good week, CJ, with the exception of the eye allergy.

Glad you finally got your coconut shrimp and steak. I've never been to Outback, but I understand we have one where I live. Sally and I tend to go to places that aren't big chains like that, so a trip there may be in order.

I really enjoyed the Spock poster. You must be a Star Trek fan. I couldn't get into it because of Shatner, but I did like Nimoy as Spock. Of course, I only ever saw it in reruns, since I wasn't around when it first came out.

Hope your weekend is equally fun.

    1. Outback is fun with the kitschy Aussie food names and decor. I like the ribs and of course, the coconut shrimp. Coconut shrimp is usually an appetizer so sometimes I'll order that and a salad and ask the waiter to bring me the shrimp when everyone else gets their entree.

Yup, nothing like the original Star Trek. Though I liked all the actors in the show, my heart belongs to De Kelley (Bones)

  2. Another wonderful week with family and friends, it sounds like you had fun and I like the sound of your meal - yum! Glad the medication worked, I have the same problem with spring pollen it feels like my eye lashes are falling out ... lol 😁. I love the fun picture from your daughter too that was so thoughtful - perfect! I've had a busy week working on a brochure for a voluntary group we volunteer at, so I made time for some crafting fun yesterday - yippee 😉. Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend! J 😊

    1. The allergies will become less of a problem in the Winter, but then I'll be whining about the cold.
      :-D

  4. Love that Spock + cat poster. And pretty unusual that Ink's whiskers were all black - he was even cooler than I already knew!

    1. I have heard that all black cats are extremely rare. He was all black including whiskers, except he had 6 white hairs on his chest.

  5. Had a great time with you too! Sometimes you have to mix up the allergy meds because you get used to them. We have found zaditor for eyes works best, and zyrtec for daily allergy medecine. It's always great when you can use a gift card. Have a fun weekend.

    1. I can't take the allergy meds, even the non-drowsy put me out. So for that, I use essential oils, but you can't use essential oils in your eyes. Glad the Zaditor worked.
