How Does Your Garden Grow?

The Heavenly Blue morning glories succumbed to the first frost. No blue morning glories this year.

The lawn guy came and cleared the leaves from the yard. The wind blew and it looks like the lawn guy was never here.

The heavy winds and frost took a toll on the Heavenly Blue morning glory vine.

The frost shriveled Reggie's morning glories. Time to harvest the seeds for next year.

A skim of ice on the bird bath. Shades of things to come.

Not much rain this week.

The little red squirrel came back for a feast. The blue jay waits for  some seeds to spill.

Himself's twig lost all its leaves. It was a twig when Himself found it growing in the front lawn. He transplanted the twig to this location. The twig is a black birch and is now 20 or so feet tall.

How does your garden grow?

  1. We had our first frost this past week too. Hydrangeas have shriveled and most potted plants are all gone. I think it's gotten this cold a little early this year but then again-it is that time of year, isn't it? Enjoy this grey Sunday. Yesterday was nicer than I thought it would be and today isn't as nice as they said. Hugs-Erika

    1. Weather dudes have a great job. They can get it all wrong and not get fired.

  2. The weather dudes down here have a boring job (unless there's a hurricane) there are two sets of weekly forecasts, one for summer and one for winter! LOL ;)

    1. I think it only looks good because of the leaf colors

  4. No frost yet, but definitely cooler.

I know what you mean when you said, "The lawn guy came and cleared the leaves from the yard. The wind blew and it looks like the lawn guy was never here."

    All the best Jan

    1. that and the fact that the oak trees are slow to lose their leaves. The bulk won't be down until Thanksgiving.

    1. The twig looks very sad. Like a Charlie Brown tree.

  8. Your garden is looking lovely, as always! We haven't had frost here as yet but there has been frost in the South of England. It's definitely cooler although we have had some beautiful sunny autumnal days of late, like today 😀. Wishing you a happy new week! J 😊 x

  9. We had a cold front move through and it was colder than ____ here last week. Maybe that's how I got sick. It warmed up after two days, but we also set an all time low for one of the days (sorry, I don't remember which one now, since one day slides into the next lately).

I have to admit, your garden looks a lot better than mine, since I haven't been out to see much of it.

    1. This is a tough time of year. It's hard to know how to dress. Warm one minute, freezing the next. I'm glad to see you're on the mend
