Only I had a hard time picking out just 10 movies so my favorites over the next few hundred Saturdays 😸 in semi-alphabetical order:
The Long Ships (1964), Richard 😻Widmark, Sidney Poitier
If you haven't seen this movie, it's available for rent on YouTube.
You might have guessed already - I haven't heard of it, but I have heard of the actors, that's something! Valerie
ReplyDelete😺Yes, it is
DeleteI have heard of this one too and I may have seen years ago-I always liked the old movies
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday Kathy
The old movies are the best
DeleteI don't know this film at all. I do like Sidney Poitier too. Guess I shall have to check it sometime. Enjoy the sun today. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteIRL, Sidney Poitier and Richard Widmark were best friends.
DeleteWOW, a movie I never heard of! Color me surprised!
ReplyDelete😺
DeleteI believe this is a bit before my time, so naturally, I've never heard of it. At least it's in color (grin).
ReplyDeleteI was 10 years old when I saw this movie on a black and white television. 😺Richard Widmark is my favorite actor of all time
DeleteI've never heard of this one... Widmark and Poitier! Nice! Googling, I see the American Legion condemned it. Lionel Jeffries plays one of the Moors, which seems an odd choice, but it seems Ernest Borgnine turned down the Poitier role. Borgnine in the role of Moor does boggle the mind.
ReplyDeleteBorgnine did better as Ragnar, father to Einar (Kirk Douglas) and Erik (Tony Curtis) in The Vikings. Lionel Jeffries played a Eunich in The Long Ships, a bit of comic relief.
DeleteI haven't heard of it, but it sounds good! Thanks CJ!
ReplyDeleteIf you like adventure movies, you'll enjoy this one
DeleteAnother one I don't know!!!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
