No matter how old you are, you still like to get an Easter basket filled with some goodies. I decided to make my girlies some Easter fun.
For the Eldest, I crocheted an Easter basket, Easter egg, Peep bunny, and an Easter chick. When she was little, we called her Chicken Little. I also tucked in some jelly beans, Lindt chocolate lambs (her favorite lovey), Innis by the Sea fragrance stuff that she likes, and a check for fun money.
I had some holiday scrapbook paper in the stash and with the Scan n Cut made a card. I like how I can easily customize projects from Canvas workspace. The bunnies were actually meant to be egg cups, but I thought perfect for the card.
and the sentiment
Since the Young One has taken an interest in crochet, to make things for her almost feels like carting coals to Newcastle. Instead of an Easter basket, a twee, Easter box using the Scan n Cut, an Easter egg bunny, Lindt chocolate ducks, jelly beans, and fun money. The Ester gift I found for her hasn't arrived yet. So I can't spill the jelly beans as she sometimes reads the blog.
One thing I did crochet for her which I thought she would get a kick out of is a little potato complete with potato eye. When she was little my dad called her Patanella, Little Potato, and she named her Etsy shop Wish Upon a Spud.
While we were surfing the Interwebs, we came across a crochet pattern for a sunflower granny square that we both fell in love with. She said she loved sunflowers and then told me a poignant story. Our first cat, Mitty, was hit by a car and found in the ditch in front of the neighbor's house. The Young One said for several years after a single sunflower grew in the spot where Mitty was found.
Even though the sunflower came from the Fall collection, the papers had to be used for her Easter card.
and the sentiment.
