My favorite blend of tea is Earl Grey. Long before Captain Jean-Luc Picard made "Earl Grey, hot." popular. Earl Grey is black tea and flavored with Bergamot orange. I like it in the afternoon or evening. A fancier cup of tea than the regular blend.
My friend, Langley, from BC, Canada told me of a fancy beverage with Earl Grey called a London Fog.
Brew and steep a cup of Earl Grey.
Add sweetener of your choice and a splash of Vanilla extract. (To cut down on my sugar intake, I've been using liquid Stevia. I found the brand Truvia with a splash of vanilla in it.)
Add some frothy milk. The Eldest got me addicted to Half n Half in my tea. I don't own a frother so I just shake the Half n Half carton and pour it all frothy into my tea. Purrfect.

That looks like an interesting beverage, but I would never drink it! I grew up with London fog - the real stuff - and it was awful! Happy T day, stay safe, Valerie
good morning, your tea sounds delicious
Happy T(ea) day
I like Earl Grey tea. I especially love Lady Grey tea (with lemon). But I have not heard of a London Fog and that sounds really nice. I am going to have to try that because it sounds like a good drink for these days when it is dark at 5. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika
From across the Pond, London Fog sounds exotic.
It is. 😊
The vanilla makes it one of those warm, comforting drinks for colder weather.
Fabulous, Earl Grey is a staple tea over here in the UK, my friend always drinks it! I wasn't sure about adding the frothy milk to tea though ...lol 😀. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x
That´s a funny name for a tea.
But... I love fog (as long as I don´t have to drive in it).
We were Earl Grey drinkers before it was cool, too. We don't keep milk except for non-fat dry milk, and something tells me that would be nearly so good lol
I know when it comes to brewing tea we do things backasswards. You add milk to tea before. We add it after. It works 😺
Funny, yes. Delicious yes. Driving in it? Definitely no
Yum
Oh this does sound like a really nice treat! Thanks for sharing, and happy T day!
This looks and sounds delicious! Happy T-Day!
You could also use the non-frigerated half n half cups. they keep for about 6 mos. without refrigeration.
😊
You're welcome
One of my favorite comfort drinks when the weather turns cold
We just bought a new Keurig machine with a built in frother....now I'm addicted to mocha lattes! Enjoy your London Fog! :D
I'm not a tea drinker, but your recipe is interesting. I think vanilla makes just about everything taste (and smell) better.
Happy T-Day! Stay safe and stay well. Hugs, Eileen
I hardly drink tea anymore , only Kombucha years ago when I use to grow the Mushroom. Love the name London Fog for the tea. But I really love the cup and saucer. very pretty. What you add to the tea sounds good.
I'll look for those, thx! Also, we ordered a Levoit air purifier and expect it tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendation. Living healthy, one expensive appliance at a time lol
the Eldest would love that new Keurig!
I think vanilla is one of the nicest scents
The saucer is really a coaster to keep my grandma's doily from getting soiled.
That sounds interesting. I have Earl Grey but I have never put vanilla in it or added frothy milk. I will try it one day.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
I really enjoy Earl Grey this way.
😺
I've had Earl Grey before, but never had it with half and half. I have also just shaken my half and half to get froth before. Great minds and all. Thanks for sharing this with us for T this Tuesday, CJ.
I love Lady Earl Grey but it is so hard to find.
Ooh. That does sound good.
Funny that you should mention a London Fog. I just stumbled upon that the other day in one of my FB tea groups. Sounds delicious. I may have to give this a try.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Lovely - Just Lovely - Sure Hope The Scenery Matched The Flavors
Cheers
Great minds, indeed. 😊
I see it all the time at 2 of the grocery stores where we shop.
It's comforting
I think you'll like it a lot.
Yup, a perfect evening at home.
It reminds me of when people "pour" acrylic inks on a canvas or other surface and the design appears. Beautiful coaster. (How sweet you have your grandma's doily). I have nothing from either gramma as I never met them. I do have photos though. They were beautiful.
What a lovely teacup and place setting! Earl Grey sounds wonderful. My favorite tea these days is Lemon Zinger.
The teacup is from a set my mother gave me when I was first married. They were a gift to her from a friend of hers. She gave them to me because she wanted to make sure I had nice cups for coffee and tea when she visited. 😺
