The Washington Calligraphers Guild announce the 2022 Call for entries for the Graceful Envelope contest. The theme is "Greetings and Salutations"
Entries must be go through the U.S. Postal Service and may not be put inside a plastic mailer or another envelope. Only one entry allowed per person. There are no prizes awarded beyond the envy of your peers.
You do not need to be a calligrapher or lettering artist to enter, but calligraphy or hand-drawn lettering must be used to address the envelope.
Winners will be notified by email. Entrants are requested to put their email address on the back of the envelope. I suggest you use a junk email address instead of your primary email address.
Children from 1st to 12th grade may also enter with judging in a separate category.

Sounds fun. Good luck to all who enter.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun especially to see the creativity
DeleteThat's an interesting contest. Will you enter? You do make some wonderful envelopes and calligraphic pieces. Happy Columbus/Indigenous People's day. What does MA call it? Here it is such a mish-mash depending where you are.
ReplyDeleteI have entered most years since 2000. I have two wins (2000, 2002) and an honorable mention (2005)
DeleteMA has officially designated the second Monday in October as Indigenous Peoples Day
I hope you enter and share what you have created once you've entered it. It sounds right up your alley. Didn't you enter last year, or did I dream that?
ReplyDeleteThe contest has been postponed in 2019 because of the pandemic. It was held in 2020, but I missed the call for entries
DeleteGood luck! I hope you win! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteThis sounds like fun! Valerie
