T Stands For Tiny

The Eldest has developed an interest in cooking. I thought cooking lessons would make a fun Christmas gift except I couldn't find classes at a time that would accommodate her work schedule. She works late afternoon and night.

I saw a posting from a Facebook friend about a food service called Hello Fresh. You choose from several recipes, are sent all the ingredients, and necessary instructions. Everything is included in the box in the exact amounts you need so there's no waste. You know how some recipes call for 2 tablespoons of onion? What do you do with the rest of the onion? With this system no worries. All you need to supply is the labor and basic pantry ingredents like salt and pepper.

The Eldest has been enjoying her stint as chef. We've been enjoying dishes that have expanded our palate like Crispy Shrimp Tacos. It's been nice having a couple of weekends off from cooking and as an added bonus the tiny, ingredient jars. Aren't they cute? They are the perfect size for an inkwell.

Because the T stands for post must include something about a beverage along with the little jars,  the Maneki Neko (Japanese lucky cat) beckons you to join him for a mug of your favorite beverage. He's put a mug out just for you.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang are up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

    1. So far, we've enjoyed them. the only item no one ate, except me, were the roasted brussel sprouts. Not my favorite, but weren't the most horrible thing I've ever eaten.

  4. Those are some TEENY TINY mugs. I had to laugh.

Blue Apron is another company that makes those boxes of fresh food. I am in awe of your daughter cooking and loved that you found a way to turn the eldest daughter into a chef. Crispy shrimp tacos sound wonderful.

Thanks for sharing those jars, left over from the meal, as well as those itsy bitsy mugs with us for T this Tuesday. I'm still laughing!

    1. The only reason I went with Hello, Fresh is I had a Facebook friend who was using the service. Didn't know anyone on Blue Apron.

Shrimp tacos were ok. I prefer beef in mine.

Glad I could be of service.

    1. It's exciting when the box arrives and looking through the recipe cards, deciding on which meal to prepare. the plan chosen was 3 meals for 4 people.

I had the jars stacked in a pyramid and liked how they glowed when the afternoon sun hit the window. The window is in a high traffic area so not practical to keep the jars stacked.

  6. Food glorious food...you've made me hungry and what a nice gift you have chosen :-)
It is about lunch time here in Virginia, USA.
I am always drawn to little jars as it is nice to "see" what is stored in them.
    Happy T Day oxo

    1. The Eldest likes to cook, but sometimes the combinations of herbs and spices she puts together is not so appetizing. With Hello, Fresh, she gets all the ingredients in proportion and a recipe to follow. The rest of us get something good to eat!

    1. Yes, meals have been delivered 3 times. Another delivery arrives on Thursday.

The little kitty is a Maneki-Neko There's a little solar plate on his back so when its light out and especially when the sun is shining, his raised left paw waves. He waves in good luck.
