T Stands For Year of the Rooster

Gong Hey Fat Choy! Happy Chinese New Year. The year of the Rooster.

My rooster mug was a gift from my "cousin" and calligraphy colleague when she came for a visit several years ago. Whenever she visits, she thoughtfully brings a calligraphy related gift or a useful tool. The writing looks like a French roundhand.

The mugs holds a whopping 16 1/2 ounces and is too big for me as I'm noted for taking a sip or two and then forgetting I made a cup of tea. However, the Eldest has been known to use the mug with her Keurig coffee machine. This mug is also perfect for making mug cakes or cooking an egg in the microwave.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang are up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  1. That is a pretty mug and sounds like it is a good size. I like a big mug, even if I never can finish my drink in it. A small mug always make me feel like there won't be enough and I have to stop and refill. Weird, yes. Happy T day to you and gong hey fat chow to you too. Hugs-Erika

    1. She is wonderfully thoughtful and creative. She lives on the West Coast but her parents live about an hour from me. When she visits them, she usually drops in on her way back to Boston. One visit, she brought a purse with the alphabet all over it. Another, a giant box of paper and chipboard as her brother used to work at a paper mill. I still haven't used half of what was brought. Another time, sandwich picks with hearts on them. Turns out for artists, these made a handy tool to mix paint. thoughtful and creative!

  9. This is the perfect day to celebrate Chinese New Year with this awesome rooster mug. It is so beautiful and artistic. I am in awe of it, and really appreciate that it fits your lifestyle, if not your drinking habits. My ugly WSU thermal mug is 32 ozs., and I drink four or five of them filled with coffee each day.

Thanks for sharing this gorgeous beauty with us for T this Tuesday. And thanks for sharing alternative uses for that big mug, too.
