Disco Bunny
Morning glorious
Heavenly Blue Morning Glory vine
Another ruffled feather
Someone forgot to empty the rain gauge. 2 weeks of rain
The tropical weather we've had all Summer mad the meadow grow into a jungle.
Yellow flowers were humming with bees.
Heath aster
Pokeweed
The milkweed has grown so big and heavy it can't stand up
The goldfinches nibbled the sunflower to the nubbins
If the feeder isn't full, the cardinal sits on the feeder yelling, "Cheep, cheep, cheep!" I know, Dad, abbondaza. Everybody eats.
I'm ready for my close-up
I only see the bunnies in ones or twos. I wonder how many of them live in the warren. With so much rain this Summer, the grass has stayed green. Usually by this time of the year, the grass is dry, brown and tired.
I love seeing the bunnies. We never get them here. And all those late summer flowers are blooming now which is the first harbinger of fall. It is coming, but first we need to get through this week's mini heat wave. Stay cool my friend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteAre you sure Pete doesn't chase the bunnies away? =^,.^= I'm happy dancing with the mini-heat wave. Cheer up, you'll be raking leaves and shoveling snow before you know it.
DeleteCute bunnies! I have never seen a bunny down here..... :(
ReplyDeleteMaybe the alligators see the bunnies before you do =^,.^=
DeleteI love the amount of space you have. Such a variety of plants! I remember how poke weed attracted the birds. I've tried to grow milkweed, but I'm thinking I must just not get enough sun. I used to get such a kick out of rabbits when we had them, but they wouldn't let anything grow higher than two inches lol I keep my hope alive that goldfinches will find us. They are such gorgeous birds!
ReplyDeleteThe property is slightly over 1 acre with most of it wooded. Plants are mostly weeds. But weeds are just flowers that aren't popular. The bunnies have been content to just eat the grass. I did make up some bunny juice to keep them away from the morning glory shoots. Himself planted his garden in pots and put the pots on a rack the bunnies can't climb.
DeleteI agree about the weeds. Some of my favorite flowers are weeds :) I actually planted wild violets on the patio when everybody else around was poisoning them lol
DeleteYour garden is looking good. The grass here is yellow and brown, and full of holes. We haven't had much rain although it has cooled off. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your cooler weather. We're in for another week of hot and humid. One last hurrah before Summer's over.
DeleteYour garden is looking lovely and those bunnies look like they are having fun eating all your green grass! I love the fall colours on that tree too 😁. Our flower beds are flourishing but the grass hasn't recovered after the heat wave we've had, time to reseed and hope it is green again soon ...lol 😉. Happy Sunday! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteThe tree is a Japanese maple which is naturally red. it will turn a brighter shade in the fall. Hasn't happened yet as we've had such humid temps. at night. Brilliant foliage relies on warm day temps and cool night temps.
DeleteLove all your photos and commentary, too. Your garden is glorious and so much greener than mine. I haven't seen a bunny in my back yard in years. Yours look healthy and happy. LOVED those morning glories. They made it this year.
ReplyDeleteThe morning glories are from the seeds Reggie gave us after the year long class. The variety is an early bloomer. I planted Heavenly Blue, too, which blooms later. I just hope I don't have to wait until the first frost to see the blooms.
DeleteEverything is so green here too, it's crazy! I have never experienced this before. So hot and so humid. Can't even breath for the next few days. But, everything is growing, like how you are! Love seeing your bunnies! Made me laugh about the cardinals! LOL!
