How Does Your Garden Grow?

It was so light out at by 6:30

A dusting of snow

Illuminated clouds.

Threat of heavy winds didn't keep the birds from the feeder.

The wind took arbor vitae fronds down

and a large branch

Wind chimes swayed frantically in the breeze

Fluffy snow didn't stop a visitor to the feeder.

The mailbox, sporting a Fu Manchu beard, survived the wild winds, snow, and plow.

Too windy for the garden flag in the yard.

As my area prepares for another hefty 7 to 10 inches of snow. I know how this little guy feels. His prayer, "Jesus, make it warm!"

How was your week?

  1. It looks so bleak and cold, hope Jesus soon answers that prayer. Wet and windy here. Valerie

  2. I'm loving the light in the sky and illuminated cloud - beautiful 😁. The little guy shovelling snow made me smile ...lol! After a few weeks of glorious sunshine, it's turned colder here with grey skies and normal temperatures. Stay warm and happy weekend! J 😊 x

  3. Great photos. I don't think I had wind like you did. I'm forecast to get 5" to 8" of snow from the same storm as you. Ugh. Stay warm! (I have my Saint Patrick's Day decorations up inside my house. I only have a few. Two nutcrackers among them, from the Christmas Tree Shops. :-)

    1. I put a St. Patrick's Day cloth on the tea table. I have a runner for the dining room table, but have to clear the flat file first =^,.^= Stay safe and warm

  4. We're getting rain like you're getting snow, and the Mississippi River is at its 4th highest level ever and rising. I'm glad Memphis is on a bluff! This has been a winter to remember.

    1. I shouldn't whine too much as we are well below our snow totals for the year. I just hate the white stuff.

  6. as always enjoyed your pics - more snow ...i feel for ya. that little guy is funny - Jesus make it warm , lol ...i kind of feel that way although we have warmed up some and yesterday it rained and rained and then we happened to be down the mountain and remembered a place we use to walk and went there - the rain stopped before we got out of the car and then started after our walk when we got back to the car. I call that ....wonderful!...

  7. It is so sad to think about all this new snow coming tonight. The lion is roaring. Luckily yesterday (Saturday) the snow was light. And this morning it was bright. I am happy about the longer days. Not too much longer at least it will be officially spring. Hope you don't get a lot of snow! Hugs-Erika

    1. Must be hard to come back from your Winter getaway to this. We're in the snow belt with over a foot so far.

  8. We just experienced your second wave that will reach you soon. Right now, it's so bitterly cold, the winds are shaking the windows, and the snow is piling up again. My garden looks about like yours without the wildlife. BTW, you are SO lucky that there is a snow plow that goes on your street. They only plow and salt the main streets in Wichita.

    1. :-O I live in a rural community. Even the back roads get plowed, sanded, and salted to bare pavement.

    1. I don't want to jinx the mailbox, but yes, it's done very well this year. I feel just like that little kid.
