Okay it could have been several small bites, but they only nibbled the back. Finish the damn thing! Don't leave it for us to get all excited about because it was beautiful from the front!
I just get so frustrated when this happens. And it happens too much. My garden is looking very bedraggled too. It's time start thinking of next year, or for you, some greenhouse planting.
It's the reason I ripped out my strawberry patch. The chipmunks would eat a bit out of the back of each berry! As to planning, the garden is Himself's hobby. I just take the pictures.
That was a BIG bite, but at least you got a tomato. The bunnies ate my ONE tomato down to the stalk before it could even get one little yellow flower on it. So sad this happened, but it made a great story!
ONE BITE????? If that's ONE bite I'd be running in the opposite direction! :O

DeleteThose chipmunks’ mothers must have done a really bad job of teaching them manners! Good luck with future gardening.

I think she told the wee 'uns, I'm not cooking today, go eat at the neighbor's house. 😺

ReplyDeleteAw, sorry you didn't get any tomatoes.
DeleteCrap!!! If eaten up, ok, but THIS?!
ReplyDeleteOh, will you share the Dunny-and-spoon thing?
I really´d like to see that spoon! LOL.
Well, that would make a really interesting T Day post!

That's a sad sight :( It's a shame they won't satisfy themselves with the bird seed.
ReplyDeleteAnd I scatter seed on the ground for all the ground feeders, too!
DeleteGoodness! That certainly was a big bite!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Sandy's right. Maybe the chipmunk should be renamed Jaws 😺
