T Stands for First Lobster Roll of the Season

Early this month, we were out running errands as lunch time rolled around. We decided to stop at our favorite 99 Restaurant as the seasonal menu featured  the Hot Buttered. Colossal Lobster Roll.  It was one of the first really nice days of the month. A Goldilocks kind of day. Too nice to sit inside the restaurant. The restaurant did try to make an outdoor space.  A few picnic tables and plants outside in the parking lot. The only problem is the parking lot is ripe with the heavy tang of asphalt. Not a smell conducive to eating.

We decided to get take-out because the sun room was the perfect place for lunch. A lovely view of the yard even if the lawn guy was over due to mow the lawn.

We ordered a new appetizer called a Seafood Stuffie, scallops and shrimp stuffed and served on a on a scallop shell. So pretty.

Hot Buttered Colossal Lobster Roll on a Brioche Bun (their fancy term for a toasted hot dog bun 😺). The entrée was beautifully plated on the finest paper plates served with French fries (chips) and a side of Cole slaw all washed down with iced tea.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  1. Your food looks so delicious, lovely view to the garden, the seafood stuffie sounds tasty.
our first trip to see our son who lived in Boston at the time, our DIL took us out and we saw lobster rolls and chips, how disappointed were we when we realised they didn’t mean fries, now I always remember not to order chips thinking they are fries.

  2. Yummy. I went to the 99 last week after Tower Hill (the one at the end of 290 in Hudson) and didn't see Lobster rolls on the menu. Maybe I was just too hungry and tired to catch it. Smile. Yours looks really really yummy. And the seafood stuffie looks good too. And I do love your good china. But that is perfect for a lobster roll. Have a great T day. Hugs-Erika

    1. You had to look under the Seasonal Heading on the Menu, and I'm surprised the waitress didn't say anything to you about them being on the menu. Stay cool

    1. And to think lobster used to be served to in prisons until the Great and Good got a taste of it. The prices are expensive, here, too, but it's so worth it.

  8. Oh, I wish I liked lobster!
No. I´m glad I don´t, I´d be the saddest person as I don´t live by the coast!!!! Sadly, very sadly.
I´m happy for you, though! :-)

  9. Had to laugh at your prices for lobster roll. I've never had lobster roll and that I know of, I've never had lobster, either. I know they are more expensive in KS because they have to be flown in. The last time I was at Red Lobster, lobsters started at $35.00 lb. I'm sure they are much cheaper where you live.

I liked seeing that beautifully plated feast on the finest paper plates. In fact, that sounds like my kind of take out. That Stuffie looks good, too. I'd save the shell to go in my art (grin). Thanks for sharing your lobster roll and iced tea with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.

    1. They don't grease the shell before they bake the stuffie so it's very hard to clean. I do have other shells I have saved.

  13. I love lobster rolls but unfortunately live far from the ocean, so it's not usually available where I eat. You are lucky to be in a lobster roll heaven.
