The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. Sunday was such a nice day, I spent the entire day in the sun room.

2. Grateful to Kristen insurance company online chat rep. who helped sort out the car insurance so I could make the payment as the policy was due the next day, but I didn't receive a bill.

3. An ordered item arrived early

4. The errors logging into the BPL were caused by their system going down. Logged in later and no problems.

5. Stopped for fried clams and a raspberry lime rickey from Harry's.

How was your week?

  1. Lucky you with #2 - I am going back and forth with the tax guys who refuse to understand my problem...
#3 - wow, does not happen here. I waited 3 months for a skirt from overseas - and then it was too big.

  2. Those fired clams look so good. I haven't had any for quite some time. OK, maybe they will be on my menu soon-smile. Sounds like a nice week. Don't you love it when things you order arrive early? Have a great Friday!

  3. Glad the problem with the BPL was resolved. What did you order that arrived? I KNOW. Wait and see later! Why did I even ask (grin)?

I called my insurance agent about a check I was supposed to receive that I hadn't. The claim was from 2015 and I've been on her since then (2015) to get my check. i finally took matters into my own hands and contacted the insurance company myself. The rep was most helpful and my check arrived this Wed. I just think about all that interest I could have been earning while my ins. agent sat on her hands and did NOTHING. You were MUCH luckier than I. Good for you. Of course, they wanted YOUR money and I was looking for mine!

    1. I knew the car insurance bill arrives at this time, but I don't recall receiving anything other than the rider. So I was worried if the bill wasn't paid on time, the insurance company notifies the RMV and the registration is revoked. Bad news is you get stopped on the road! Fortunately, there was a 10 day grace period and since I pay through the bank, the insurance company got the payment next day.

I had called my insurance rep. left a message. Late in the afternoon is when I decided to call the insurance company. I still haven't heard from the my insurance rep. and it's been 4 days!

  5. Sounds like a pretty decent week. As far as #2, usually insurance companies will give you the option to either pay online or by phone (with a fee of course!). We have had State Farm for the last 30 years and found out how good (or bad rather) they are when we needed them with my hailstorm car! Currently looking elsewhere. Cheap or expensive, you find out either way very quickly WHEN you actually need them!

    1. The bill was due the day after I called. The rep told me I had a 10 day grace period. So all was good.

  6. Fried clams sound good. I mostly avoid deep fried things these days, but I used to say I'd even eat rubber bands if someone put batter on them and deep fried them.

    1. 😺 That's the description the Eldest gave for fried clams. She's not a fan of them.

  9. Being able to make payments online is a nice convenience. Time on the sun porch sounds perfect!

    1. I pay almost all of my bills through the bank. Then the accounting is all in one place. And for problems with a company saying the bill wasn't paid, I just contact the bank and they handle everything. I'll be sad when sun room season is over.
