How Does Your Garden Grow?

A foggy start to the morning, but now snow in the front yard.

Highs in the 60s. Record breaking for February as these are the normal temps for April.

Finally, all the snow across the back Tundra is gone.

Watcher 1 as I was going through Storm Prep of filling the bird feeders

Himself moved the car to the storm position

Watcher 2 wanting to get into the action.

Red sky in the morning,
Sailor take warning.
Red sky at night

so much for the sailor's delight. The snow birds were enjoying the storm.

The depths of my tears

A little snowbird took shelter from the storm in the bushes in front of the picture window

4 to 8 inches of snow was predicted for my area. My measurement was 6 inches. We might have had more snow except for the fact that in my area, the snow turned to sleet. The sleet kept the snow totals down, but made for a heavy, pasty snow to move.

The day after the storm, the male cardinal found a sunny spot in the honeysuckle vine.

I shoveled the walk and stairs. The Plow Angel came to take care of the driveway.

After the plow, the only job left was to clear the snow  in front of the garage and off Moose.

Since we have no place to go this weekend, I decided to be lazy and to take advantage of the sun and let the sun melt some of the snow off the car.

How does your garden grow.

  1. Sorry to see you got hammered again in that storm. We got very lucky, and, although an ice storm was forecast, we only had rain. I hope it all melts soon!

    1. Above freezing temps predicted for midweek so hopefully by the weekend most of the snow will be gone.

  2. We're having temps 20 degrees cooler than normal :( High yesterday in the 30s with some freezing rain that didn't amount to anything.

So much snow where you are!

    1. Glad the freezing rain didn't amount to anything. Ice is worse than snow

  4. That's about what we got too. Of course this fluffy snow settles. It was looking like spring and now it looks like winter. AUGH!!! Hopefully these snow squalls don't amount to anything.

  5. Nice to see the watchers in the window...wow 6" - that's what we got in the last storm also. Still frozen ground in our yard and on our deck. But i've been getting out walking in the areas that get a lot of sun so the trails are clear. Hope you thaw quick..meterologic spring is in 2 days, hurray..

  6. Saturday was the first day we were above freezing all week, then yesterday it was warmer outside than in my house. At least you are letting the sun do all the hard work around your car. Love seeing your watchers, too.

    1. The angle of the sun at this time of the year is high so even though it's cold out, the sun is strong.
