1. The Knights of Columbus at St. Mark's Church are once again doing a drive by fish fry on Fridays during Lent. Woohoo no cooking!
2. The electricity went out and came right back on. Whew! There was only 9 hours of backup on the battery because the Grid never charged the battery due to the weather service calling our Winter weather an advisory instead of a warning. I thought they did
3. Realizing we were in the Lenten season, time to watch a bunch of Holy movies. First up, Ben Hur with Charlton Heston
4. We found the 1952 version of The Miracle of Fatima starring Gilbert Roland. I haven't seen this movie in decades.
5. Play day with Teague.
How was your week?
My week was ok, a tad different than a normal week for me with a doc apt and two days in the office in town instead of just one. Storms the last few days with today looking like it will be the worse. Woke this morn and we are already under a tornado watch, meaning things are setup and can turn to a tornado easily. But at least, its not hitting at night. I remember as a child watching Ben Hur, I loved it.
ReplyDeleteI hope the weather isn't as bad as predicted. Stay safe
DeleteLoved Ben Hur ... I get in an old movie kick once in awhile.. Just watched 'You've Got Mail' .. I know its not the 'old movies' your talking about but i was surprised at how much i sitll enjoyed the 'You've Got Mail' movie...lol
ReplyDelete~ Received a little rain with 55mph winds but none of the really bad stuff.. hail, tornadoes...
~ Hubby is missing his golf tournament so i can go see if i won anything in my Essay Contest... His golfing buddies are not happy..

Have another great week CJ! Hugs! deb
His buddies will get over it. I hope you do well in the Essay Contest
DeleteOh boy! Old movies! I'll bring the popcorn! 😃
ReplyDeleteDeal!
DeleteElectricity went out? Weird, dreamed that tonight/this morning!
ReplyDeleteWeek was OK. Some weird laughs, some more free time! But tired, tired, tired... Glad it´s the weekend :-)
I hope you can get some rest this weekend
DeleteYou week sounds good. Fried fish, yum! Next week I can go back home! Valerie
ReplyDeleteThat's really good news!
DeleteNice week CJ. My week was too snowy. But the sun today was glorious. Hope you don't get too much bad weather tonight into tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAt least the bad weather is on the weekend so we have no place to go.
DeleteI haven't seen either of those movies in decades. I"m glad your power didn't stay off. We were lucky here, but some in Memphis are still without. So many trees down.
ReplyDeleteBen Hur is an annual watch for us. I haven't seen the Miracle at Fatima since I was a kid so it was a real treat.
DeleteI've not seen either of these films, and not heard of the second one. Good thing your battery wasn't needed. And of course, good you could eat out AGAIN, or at least didn't have to cook.
ReplyDeletePlease don't ask about my week!
I know your week was difficult and I'm sorry for your loss.
