T Stands For One More Thing

Conjunction of Venus (top) and Jupiter  taken March 2, 2023

Last week, I talked about the Happy Little Time Waster app, Skyview. I forgot to mention another very cool feature.

Not only can you look at objects in real time, but you can also time travel to the past or the future to see what the sky will look like! By clicking on the Calendar in Settings, you can change the date and time to see what constellations were visible on your birthday! Or 14. October 1066 (the Battle of Hastings.)

How cool is that!

My cup of tea from last month when I was star gazing and watching the SpaceX Starlink satellite.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  1. That is cool. I picked up that app but between all the weather in the last week I haven't had a chance to go out and try it. Plus last night that wind was pretty brutal. Do you have any snow on the ground or is that an older photo? Happy T day. hugs-Erika

    1. But you don't need to go outside to use the app. You can view things from the comfort inside your house. the photo is the one taken about a month ago. We still have 3 or 4 inches of snow left on the ground.

  2. Did you see Venus and Jupiter side by side? We think we did see them. My brother is a very committed star-gazer, including telescopes and attached cameras.

    1. Skyview is only available for on smartphones. But visit Stellarium Web Online and it's like having a planetarium on your computer (minus the music and lecture)

    1. It's just so fascinating because looking up at the sky makes you realize there is something so much bigger than yourself

  13. I STILL want to know what is on the other side of your gate that looks like gray cat ears! Love Ink's mug.

Would you please tell Nan I tried for THREE days to leave a comment on her move/movement word of the month and kept getting "Failed to Publish."

Thanks for sharing this app again and how clever it is for those who have a smart phone (mine is still attached to the wall at home), as well as your Ink mug with tea for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.

  15. the app does sound cool and another way to waste time lol. I might try to DL it once I clear some clutter off my phone, no space at the moment. Sorry for the late visit, I'm really struggling with the cold at the moment. Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx
