For sore throats. Some home remedies to soothe a sore throat or just for some cozy comfort.
1. Hot water, honey, and lemon juice
2. Hot milk, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and honey.
3. Hot water, orange zest, and cinnamon stick. (I'd add some honey, too)
4. Hot milk, ground turmeric, cinnamon stick, whole black peppercorn, and honey
I'm not a fan of hot milk so I'd most likely brew these ideas with tea.
My standard recipe for getting rid of a sore throat is tea, 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar, and 2 tsp. honey
Do you have home remedy teas for taking care of a cold and/or sore throat?
Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.
Those all sound like pleasant drinks for a healthy person too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday and I hope that you don’t (in fact) have any ailments now.

Still getting over Covid, but doing better
DeleteWhen I'm sick and need to sleep, I love a shot of whiskey. And lemon tea is always are good. How are you doing? Feeling any better? Have a super T day.
ReplyDeleteI've never had whiskey. Still tire easily, but feeling better.
DeleteI've been known to eat honey by the spoonful, and I do have a box of throatcoat tea bags. I haven't found anything that does much for a cough.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you ended up with these lasting symptoms and hope all that's behind you soon.
Happy T Tuesday!
I found honey eat right off the spoon works great for cough. I hope this is the end of things, too
DeleteYes all of those tea combinations are good, I would use them all. When I was a kid with a cold/sore throat etc, mum would mix up a "hot toddy" which was hot water, whiskey and honey! I never liked the taste of the whiskey but it did the trick. In the winter I brew up some elderberry cold remedy and drink it to ward off colds, of course I haven't made any this year and wouldn't you know it, I got flu! Happy T Day! Elle xx
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot all about the dried elderberries I have in the pantry. Elderberry tea is so nice, too.
DeleteI was going to suggest a shot of bourbon! It might not cure a sore throat but you won't care about it anymore......🤣🤣🤣
ReplyDelete😺I like your way of thinking
DeleteAaahhh i wish i had a recipe to offer you ! For me its just a cup of Lipton black tea... with milk and sugar... and a relaxing sit on the couch.. then maybe a nap.. :) Take care dear CJ .. Happy T day! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI like a plain cup of tea with milk and sugar, too. Very comforting
DeleteLoving your post today, those teas all look great for sore throats ☺️. We have a shot of "Toffee Vodka" when a sore throat seems to be starting, it usually clears it up or course gargling with salt water works too but it's so yucky ... smile. Sorry I haven't been around, we've been visiting family and went to Prague for a few days, it was very Christmasy and we had an amazing time. Wishing you joy and happiness, Merry Christmas! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteI hope you blog about your trip to Prague
DeleteYour recipes sound good. I have some ready made tea bags which help by coughs and colds, and I like to add lemon and honey. Hope you are feeling better, and that the fatigue is getting less. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt's a crazy disease. I was feeling fine yesterday and today I'm so tired. I hope you're feeling better, too.
DeleteI don't have a real recipe for you, but I usually just squeeze a lemon, top it up with boiling water and add sugar. As soon as the temperature is bearable I sip it. I hope you will feel better soon. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipe
DeleteI miss SO much when I only post once a week. I was nearly blown over when I read you had COVID. NO!!! I hope you both get better soon.
ReplyDeleteI like all the recipes you shared for a sore throat. I can't actually remember the last time I had one.
Thanks for sharing these recipes with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ. And PLEASE get better soon.
Thanks, Elizabeth. Himself and The Eldest have recovered. I seem to have some lingering effects, mostly fatigue.
DeleteOne 'remedy' that has been in our family for years is the hot milk, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and honey one.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel 100% soon.
All the best Jan
I might give that a try tonight. Thanks
DeleteI thought I left a comment, but because I have no way to know for sure, I'll leave another one as soon as I finish leaving comments.
ReplyDeleteYou did. It published. Scroll up
DeleteUgh. I do have apple cider vinegar here. It´s said to be healthy with hot water and honey. I tried, I did! I´m healthy without ;-)
ReplyDeleteI hear ya! 😺
DeleteNumber 1 for me and number 4 for hubby. Hope you feel better soon, Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
