The Friday Five Good Things

via GIPHY

Five good things that happened this week.

1. We had our Thanksgiving on Saturday since the Eldest had to work the holiday

2. Himself had gone to the store and bought me chestnuts. My dad loved roasted chestnuts at the holidays and I like to keep up the tradition.

3. The Young One isn't known for her culinary skills. She texted me one night: "I made spaghetti tonight. On the stove. On my own. And it wasn't crunch or gummy. And it was delicious. Put olive oil, garlic powder, lemon pepper, parmesan and oregano on it." I texted her back a GIF of a fainting Po, the red Teletubbie. (She had a Po doll when she was little)

4. Didn't have much luck Christmas shopping at the mall. Had better luck shopping online

5. Another productive play day with Teague.

How was your week?

  1. Sounds like you had fun. I have to stay home, and I don't feel good. I hope my Covid goes away soon!

  2. It's been a busy week for me. I never have luck shopping at the mall. I'm glad you had good luck online. And I've never had a roasted chestnut. Are they good? I need to try some sometime.

    1. Roasted chestnuts are delicious. Best eaten when warm. You have to be careful because a lot of times, the chestnuts are rotten inside. You can't tell just by looking at the outside of the chestnut

  4. Busy busy good week this past week...
    * Cleaned the garage and sold a bunch of stuff on Facebook Marketplace... sold like hotcakes! So good to have that stuff gone..
    * Lots of phone calls from daughter as she prepares to move to TX
    * 70+ degree weather for the next week
    * Purchased a new Amaryllis 'Amigo' has joined the family..
    * Today we go to Christmas at Old Ft. Concho... Same stuff every year... but we enjoy walking around together holding hands..
Would love to know what 'play day with Teague' looks like. Do you craft or make art or do you both do calligraphy?? OR just whatever strikes your fancy?
Have a beautiful weekend! Hugs! deb

    1. Mostly play day is a ladies who lunch day. Sometimes if the weather is nice, we'll go Headstone Hunting, or visit tourist places we haven't seen. Mostly we just go out to lunch and talk, talk, talk.

  6. First: Love the background! Ingo still teases me about my first cooking adventure when studying. Sauerkraut with pineapple. Instruction said: warm for 15 minutes. Boy it was crunchy! Practically raw...
This week was packed! Adventures with K, good food, fun and Ingo just came home with flowers :-)

  7. I think blogger ate up my comment?
Was just going to say Ingo teased me a long time (still does) about a Sauerkraut with pineapple from when I was a student. Said: warm 15 minutes. Was practically raw!
Was an exciting week if way too cold!

  9. We loved the Teletubbies!

I'm flexible about days for celebrations and holiday observances. I've never had chestnuts. Our week has been fun-filled with decorating. We have finished that and opened our cider to put on the stove to simmer with spices.
