The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. Himself dispatched a jumping spider for me.

2. The Eldest  made a donation to the World Wildlife Fund in my name. She thought it would make a nice Halloween gift. I now have a black jaguar that looks like Ink when he made his Grrr face. The jag's name is Bink.

3. I gave Himself a chemistry Cation t-shirt which happens to be his favorite. Not! So I always tease him that he doesn't wear it often enough. He wore it to class on Monday. One of his colleagues gave him an Okaaaay look. 😺

4. So far, the separate bowl of bird seed for Timex is working. He's been gorging on his own cheap seed and leaving the more expensive seed in the bird feeder to the birds.

5. Called a local, rubbish removal company for a garage clean out. Got it scheduled the day after I called. I hope their service is as good as their scheduling.

How was your week?

  1. Jumping spiders!? Oh my, that would have me running! Great idea with the donation, too. My week was somehow too short. Valerie

  4. I will give a dedicated cheap seed chipmunk feeder a try! It amazes me that the chipmunks will return, stuffing their cheeks, as long as there's food available. I do have a couple of feeders they can't get into, but not the one the cardinals like. At least chipmunks are cute, or that's what I keep telling myself ;)

    I love that WWF gift!

    1. Walmart had a @0 lb bag of cheap seed on sale for $6. Timex has been hoovering the cheap seed and then making a move on the seed in the feeder. So not that great of an idea. One good thing about the separate bowl of seed, while the chippies stuff themselves the birds are able to get to the feeder. The bluejays also like to peck at the seed in the bowl.

    2. It'd definitely be worth a try. I'm willing to try anything that might distract them from the cardinal feeder, even if for just a while lol

    1. Yes, there is, but don't call the 800 Junk you might see advertised on television. I've used them before and have been very disappointed. This time around, after reading my town's Facebook group, I got the recommendation for a local guy. They were awesome. Took all the junk and the price couldn't be beat.

  7. That is so special, about the World Wildlife fund! I don't like jumping spiders! Just read your comment about the guys who cleaned up your junk. Great to hear! Glad the feed is working for Timex! Take Care CJ!
