The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. The Brother, his Wife, The Nephew, his Wife, and their sweet Baby Girl came for a visit.  I made Ma's pizzelle and anise cookie recipes sugar and gluten free. They were a big hit.

2. After a 2 hour delay at the airport in Ohio, the Young One finally made it home by 11:30 PM. Even better, glad she took the door to door shuttle home so Himself didn't have to drive around the airport for hours as she didn't know about the flight delay until the last minute.

3. Went to Red's for tea and an episode of Outlander

4. The QuickZip Sheets arrived. Hopefully no more sheets popping off the bed when the bed is raised to watch TV.

5. Had very long lunch with a West Coast calligraphy buddy who is visiting her parents. Good times catching up.

How was your week?

    1. I saw an ad for the sheets. A fitted sheet that won't come off the bed when the adjustable mattress is in an upright position. It looks like a fitted sheet with a zipper top. To change the sheets, you just zip off the top and zip on a clean.

  5. Your week is much more exciting than mine. I was just trying to stay warm, do laundry, write comments, and did I mention stay warm? I'm bracing for tomorrow when we get an icy mix and daytime temps hover around 10 F.

I hope you don't get slammed with snow, although it looks like you won't be able to avoid it.

    1. Yup, we're getting the same storm starting out as heavy snow and changing over to sleet, freezing rain, and ice. That's more the worry than the snow. The weather dudes are waffling about the snow amounts 12 to 18 inches, maybe. It just depends on where the sleet/snow line sets up. And then after the storm passes a flash freeze with bitter cold temps. We don't have a fireplace or wood stove to curl up next to so my plan to keep warm is long underwear, a fluffy hooded sweatshirt, fingerless gloves, and copious amounts of tea as long as the electricity holds out. Stay safe and warm.

    3. I was hoping we wouldn't get snow either, but in my case that's just wishful thinking

  7. Sounds as if you've had a lovely week … so pleased.
Our week has been good, the weather stayed dry and it was nice to get out and about for some walks.

However, parts of the UK have had snow today so I'm hoping it will not reach us. Time will tell.

    Have a lovely weekend.

    All the best Jan

  9. Well four good things was learning how to stay put and inside the house and just really enjoy the rain -torrents of rain - Usually staying inside is very hard for me and about three days is the most I can do. It's odd though - pretty much every day has it's blessings and good stuff ....

    1. I'm such a Hobbit and don't mind staying inside at home. Even when days seem bleak, there is a small, good thing that happens. You just have to look for it.
