Flowers for the window boxes
Wild morning glories, also known as Devil Weed as the vine is invasive and chokes out other plant. It's hard to get rid of, too.
Dedo and his hydrangea blooms. Three more blooms than we got last year. Seems lots of people in town have been having the same problem. Lots of leaves and very few blooms.
Some zucchini
Two varieties of tomatoes
A cucumber that looks more like a pickle.
Some peppers
Like me, the New Guinea Impatiens seems to be enjoying the heat
Either the milkweed blooms are too heavy for the stalks or they keeled over in the heat.
The morning glories seem to have gotten off to a slow start. Looks like something is enjoying nibbling the leaves.
Milkweed pods
What kind of ugly bug is this?
How does your garden grow?
And a very Happy Birthday to the Young One.
your garden looks wonderful. I see these little beetles around here occasionally..I usually do my best to keep them safe and away from the cats.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday wishes.
At first I wondered if it was an Asian Long-horned beetle, but they appear to be spotted and this guy is not.
DeleteYour garden is looking fantastic. I think it's a good year for them. And I love the window boxes too. Your house is looking great and it's got me thinking that mine is starting to look a bit shabby. Happy Sunday. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteBut I thought shabby chic was very much in (-:
DeleteYour gardens look great. Nice mix of flowers and vegetables. My squirrel battles continue: so far they've won every skirmish, including becoming unbaffled by the squirrel baffle, and getting into the bird feeder. (I have one very smart squirrel, who is a trouble maker.)
ReplyDeleteThe garden is more of a mix of weeds and vegetables. Squirrels are very smart and I don't mind if they get into the feeder or not. I haven't seen much of the squirrel or bunnies this Summer. I don't know if all the workmen we had around the house scared the critters into hiding or they became coyote chow. Maybe someone in the neighborhood put out better food. :-D
DeleteYour garden is lookin' good! :D
ReplyDelete♪♫♪♫♪♫ HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOUNG ONE! ♪♫♪♫♪♫
It won't win any garden prizes, but it's not bad for a gardener with a black thumb :-D
DeleteYour garden is certainly looking better than mine. You seems to be doing well.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to the young one.
Himself tends the veggies, and I tend the weeds
Delete:-D
Your garden is looking great, but that bug looks scary. Happy birthday to your young one! Valerie
ReplyDeleteScary is right. I thought it might be an Asian Longhorn beetle which is invasive and has caused damage to trees in our area. Hopefully, the bug will become a yummy snack for a bird or other creature.
DeleteI've never had a window box, but I love how they look. Your garden grows such a variety :) That's an interesting beetle, but I don't know what kind it is. I hope he doesn't chow down on your plants.
ReplyDeleteThe beetle wasn’t on the morning glories today like he was yesterday. Don’t know where he went
DeleteI hope your young one had a wonderful birthday! Your garden is flourishing now summer is here - beautiful 😁. Happy wishes! Jo x
ReplyDeleteYup, Summer is here. Yay! And you're getting the heat we had last week. More heat on our way this week. Yay! So much better than snow!
DeleteHappy Birthday to your young one!
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks happy! Your cucumber made me laugh! LOL! I hope that bug stays away! Dedo is so cute!
The bug was gone in the morning. I haven't seen it so far this week, and I hope it doesn't come back.
DeleteBelated Birthday Wishes to your young one.
ReplyDeleteI think your garden looks great.
All the best Jan
I need to win the lottery so we could afford some serious landscaping
