Saturday Afternoon at the Movies

    I've actually HEARD of this one, but never saw it. I might be able to catch it on TV if I'm lucky.

      This is a remake the original was made in 1984. I think the remake is a much better storyline. And the martial arts choreography is better, too.

      I think you’re thinking of the original films with Pat Morita and. Ralph Macchio from 1984. There were 3 films in that series. The Jackie Chan/Jaden Smith is a remake of the 1984 film.

    I've seen this one more than once and enjoyed it. The sequels, on the other hand, are skippable. I never saw the remake.

      I was reading KathyInOzarks' comment above and was thinking of that rather than to the film you actually posted lol. Distraction, lack of focus, my brain on holiday, maybe? Yes, the remake I've never seen.

      When I was practicing martial arts, the original was my Sensei’s favorite movie of all time. You didn’t dare say you didn’t like the original or you’d be doing push-ups or having to stand in particular martial arts positions 😄
