How Does Your Garden Grow - Part 2

 Another back to front story

It was supposed to be a cucumber growing in this pot, but a morning glory seed planted itself

Wild raspberries. Not quite ready to pick

Sugar snap peas from the garden

Breakfast with the bunny

A delicate hydrangea blossom

The remnants of Tropical Storm Elsa. Lots of water between the cobbles and running down the street

During the storm the ditch was completely full

At the height of the storm, you can see the ditch is full. That pale greyish stripe at the bottom of the photo

Rain, rain, and more rain. We had heavy rains Fourth of July weekend and rain all during the week. Elsa dropped another 3 inches which we did not need in my area. This storm was a typical Nor'easter which we usually get during Winter. If it had been Winter, my area would have gotten 3 feet of snow. đŸ˜±

Fortunately for me, we didn't flood, but 5 miles up the road apiece did as well as other areas in the city of Worcester and around the state. You can see the video and read the stories here.

Morning tea with the bunny

New solar lighting. The house will be able to be seen from space!

The Birthday Flag is out for the month. The Eldest celebrated her birthday on the 10th. The Young One will celebrate her birthday 11 days later and mine will be the last week of July.

Stop by for cake. There will be plenty this month.

  1. More rain today too. I guess it is good for the drought which we have. Do you? Ours is left over from last summer, fall, winter too. Your garden s looking green though. And nice to have sugar snap peas. Mine didn't do well. Somehow there is something sad about another rainy summer day. One here and there is OK. Stay dry my friend. hugs-Erika

    1. The drought for my area ended last month. We now have a surplus of rain and have had more rain than we usually get all year. More rain predicted for this week. This is what it must feel like to live in a rain forest. Stay dry!

  3. Your garden is doing great. I love those solar lights along the path. I took a few photos of the "raging rapids" behind my house, but the perspective didn't really tell the story, so I didn't post them. I'm glad both of us were spared from the flooding that went on in some areas of MA and CT. :-(

  4. P.S. I forgot to write that I shuddered at your Nor'easter snow total cross reference. Ugh!!! I think we got about 4" here, so that would've been 40" of snow. Yikes!

  5. July is Birthday Heaven for y'all! The raspberries would be nice. Fresh ones I buy at the store get moldy before I can get them home, and frozen ones are out of stock every week *sigh* You'll be able to just pick them :) Another kind of Heaven :)

    1. I'm glad we didn't flood, and with the rain totals pulling us out of a drought with surplus rain, we don't need any more water.

    2. So unfair we got more than our share and places out West are in desperate need.

  7. I was delighted to read it didn't flood where you live. Those solar lights are impressive and the raspberries and sugar snap peas are looking delicious, too. My blackberries are ripe and Scott picked a few to eat yesterday. Now I'm really hungry, because that cuke and peppers are calling my name.

You certainly have a great birthday month. I'm ready for cake, dear (grin)!!
