The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. Spent he Fourth of July watching patriotic movies on TCM. The Music Man and Yankee Doodle Dandy

2. Lazy day. Grilled steak and corn on the cob. Baked potato

3. Appointment in Boston. Hardly any traffic, made good time, and got a parking space

4. Saw a monarch butterfly fluttering among the milkweed

5. Was reminded to take some time for storm prep. The superstition is if you go through all the storm prep, the storm won't be that bad. Besides water buckets, charging devices, drinking water, I even baked bread.

How was your week?

  1. Your bread looks delicious CJ. I might make some today with this grey weather.Hope the trip to Boston went well. I think there wasn't much traffic because everyone is up here vacationing. Not a great week for that. Hopefully the weekend will improve. Hope you don't get too much rain and have a great weekend.

Good: Ingo has three weeks off!

And for in case you (as I admit me) don´t check back on answers to comments...

    CJ!!!! In vodka!!! LOL 🤣🤣
I never had vodka in my life - I made sure asking Ingo because once he had some clear alcohol that I tried - it was gin.

    BUT he said, "yes, try!"
    "I have none!"
    "But I do!"

    Post to come!

  6. I love The Music Man! Your grilled steak meal sounds like a real treat. A monarch butterfly is something I really miss from my childhood when we used to get flocks of them. Congrats on having an attractive habitat :)

    1. This is the first year in a long time that I've seen monarchs. Hopefully, they will lay their eggs on the milkweed leaves.

  10. Your Independence Day was a lot more enjoyable than mine. I've been watching the weather off and on and I have been worried about you and Erika. From what I've seen, it's a very fast moving storm, at least. It sounds like you were well prepared.

    1. Fast moving, the winds weren't as high in my area as expected. Though some low areas flooded, thankfully my basement didn't and we didn't lose electricity
