The Friday Five Good Things

Five good things that happened this week.

1. John McClane Day on AMC. Watched Die Hard movies all Saturday afternoon.

2. Watched an old favorite movie The Shoes of the Fisherman. I just love Oskar Werner.

3. Made Slush to beat the heat.

4. Enjoyed my birthday. Family and friends sent birthday wishes. Did some art, watched some movies, got Coconut Shrimp from Outback

5. Awesome lunch of Outback leftovers. No cooking!

How was your week?

  3. Did you see the choices for the 14th Doctor? If I can't have David Tennant, I'll have to vote for Benedict Cumberbatch, another nerdy hunk I love to drool over (grin).

    1. Cumberbatch would be a good choice. From the list I saw Idris Elba or Michael Sheen. I didn't recognize the names of many of the women actors. I thought maybe Sophia Myles who played Mme de Pompadour in "The Girl in the Fireplace" Whoever they choose, I hope they get better writers. Jodie Whitaker is a good actor, but I thought the stories she was given were pretty lackluster and didn't show how good she really is.

    2. Oh, and a better showrunner, too. Chibnall really dropped the ball on this series. Imnsho

    3. I also saw Idris Elba, and considered him, but I thought he might be a bit too old. Not saying age matters, it's just I don't picture a Dr. with a white beard. That's just how I personally envision a Dr., though. He has the voice and the British vibe, at least.

    4. Idris Elba is only 49. He's just a kid! 😺

  6. I hope you had a fabulous birthday week CJ! You can't go wrong with Die Hard movies, even if they are not all of equal quality. And coconut shrimp sounds just delicious. Especially when you get 2 meals out of them. Have a fabulous weekend and celebrate the rest of your birthday month.
