How Does Your Garden Grow?

The lawn guy came and cleared away all the leaves.

The oak trees are still hanging on to their leaves. Typically, the oaks don't drop until the last week of November. The lawn guy won't be back as he's finished for the season.

It's been a couple of weeks since I've seen the cardinal. Perched on the trellis master of all her surveys.

As he takes over the feeder.

We've had a very wet Fall. Another bout of rain left the trees sparkling with jewels.

It's been so wet the lawn guy's tractor kept getting stuck.

After the last rain, high winds were expected. To be on the safe side, I brought the garden flag inside the porch.

And as today marks the 100th anniversary of the end of The Great War, a piece with poppies for the end of this post. The poem, In Flanders Fields by John McCrae done in 2012 as part of NaNoJouMo

    1. We've had more than our fair share of rain. I'm hoping this means there won't be enough moisture for snow this Winter

  2. Oh send your lawn guy my way during week please. It is so windy today I can't rake-at least right now, and it is more a mess than it was the other day. Looking good on your end. Hope it stays that way for you. Happy Sunday. Hugs-Erika

  3. The cardinals always provide a bright addition, don't they! I love seeing them :) Your Autumn banner looks good there. We got cold fast here, and there's even a prediction of lows of 26 and chances of mixed precipitation on Monday night, Brrrr! We haven't been nearly as wet as you've been.

  4. I like your door!
Our weather has been wet too.
I saw a cardinal and a blue bird the other day both just a few feet apart in the backyard. I should have bought a lottery ticket since it was my lucky day.

    1. I've only seen a bluebird once a few years ago. Next time you see the cardinal and bluebird, buy that ticket!

  6. I haven't seen a cardinal at my place all year. More than my fair share of robins, though. I think the cardinals flew your way.

It got cold here. Down to the teens on Friday and low 20s on Saturday. Biting wind and snow, too. I think I got YOUR weather! I will admit, I miss autumn, but definitely don't want summer back.

Your yard looks much better than mine right now. I want all the trees in my neighborhood to shed their leaves so I can mow one last time and mulch everything in the process.

    1. The cardinals stay here year round. And our temps have gotten colder, too. Down to the upper 20s this morning. Brrr. Frost on the windshield. You can keep the snow.
