How Does Your Garden Grow?

The new garage door. So nice to be able to open and close at the push of a button.

The cardinal checking on Thanksgiving preparations.

The mourning dove mourning the fact not much seed in the feeder.

Record setting temperature on Thanksgiving. Brrrr

Jack Frost stopped by to leave a painting on the slider door.

Cold lunch at the feeder. I like the bird hanging out on the sunflower stalk.

I was surprised with the cold temperatures how much snow melted.

  2. Yeah, it surprised me too how fast the heavy snow melted away in spite of the cold temps. So, is winter over yet? LOL!!!

  3. Brrrrr! So what kind of critters left the paw prints?

    1. I think they are squirrel prints where the squirrel hopped and landed feet, butt, and tail in the snow.

  4. Brrrr! We're still getting highs in the 60s, but the high tomorrow is supposed to only be 45. Not _nearly_ the temps you're seeing. The cardinals are such a bright spot at the feeder. I think I'd put out food even if they were the only bird I got. Our mourning doves rarely come to the feeder. A working garage door is always welcome :) It's fun to see tracks from visitors in the snow. Again, I say Brrrrr!

    1. I'd gladly take your 60s, even your 45. The mourning doves are usually ground feeders, but this one guy likes to sit on the roof of the feeder.

  5. Jack(ie) Frost is a wonderful artist, isn't she:)
Cardinals brighten up the bleakness of winter, don't they?
    16 degrees....sick and wrong.
    Hope your Thanksgiving was blessed.

    1. :-D Yes, she is. The cardinals are a bright spot any time of the year, but especially striking during the Winter. I agree, 16 degrees is sick and wrong.

  6. Nice new garage door! It is definitely warmer today so we are getting some snow melt. Hurrah. And this week so far looks a bit warmer which is definitely good! Happy new week. Hugs-Erika

    1. Now if it would just stop raining. I went out to the feeders and sank up to my ankles in mud. Have a good week!

  7. We had record cold, we had snow, but you had far more than I got. Your new garage door must make you very happy. I think your feeders are in far better shape than mine. I ran out of bird seed and haven't replaced it. Sad, but true, now that the birds really need it.

    1. I love the new garage door. The old one was the original to the house, 60 odd years old. The springs were rusted, off kilter tracks, and the wood door had fallen apart. It was a real back breaker to lift. Even manually, the new door goes up smoothly

  8. Great pictures CJ! Our snow all melted, but it has came back again! I have to put feed in my bird feeders! Thanks for reminding me! Big Hugs!
