Five good things that happened this week.
1. The leak from the water/ice dispenser in the refrigerator door turned out to be an ice jam melting in the ice chute. Whew! I thought we were in for a repair.
2. HBO ran a free weekend special. We watched Wonder Woman and Justice League
3. Found some cute Christmas curtains on sale.
4. File this under fascinating and scary at the same time. At 9:30 PM, the female cardinal was beating against the kitchen window. I didn't know birds were awake after dark. I haven't seen the female for some time. And I'm wondering what her message was?
5. Driving home on the washboard of Route 20 because of construction, WCRB, the classical radio station I listen to, played the William Tell Overture. Perfect music for dodging construction barrels.
How was your week?
Sounds like a good week. I wonder what that bird wanted? Nice choice of music, too! Valerie
ReplyDeleteI still haven't figured out what her message was. She hasn't returned which I suppose is a good thing
DeleteMy mom loves WCRB so you shot a good memory to me just mentioning that. I think William Tell and washboards go together good. Last time I was on rt 20 going to my cousin out in Charlton it was a bit rough, but that's a busy road. Still it sounds like a good week. I really enjoyed the sun yesterday, even if it was just through a window. Hppy weekend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteA sunny day in Winter is good as it means no snow, or rain.
DeleteI can just picture you driving in a construction zone, zooming around barrels to the William Tell Overture! LOL :D
ReplyDeleteI'm hell on two wheels! :-D
DeleteIt sounds to me like the cardinal got startled from its roosting spot. Some predator, maybe? I never see them after dark. Congrats on not needing a plumber/appliance repair-person! Hoorah!
ReplyDeleteI thought the cardinals had nested in the arbor vitae that separates our neighbor's yard from ours. I wonder if one of the pairs found a comfortable spot under the solar panels?
DeleteWhat a fun week you had. I loved conjuring up an image of you, road construction, and the William Tell Overture. Not sure I'll EVER get that image out of my head, either!
ReplyDeleteNow when you hear the William Tell Overture, you'll think of me careening around construction barrels, dodging potholes and construction workers, and trying not to get flagged for speeding through a construction zone :-D
DeleteYour Christmas Curtains sound good.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I hope they arrive soon.
DeleteThat is really interesting about the female cardinal! "They" always say, when an animal comes to you, listen to what the first thing that comes to your heart, and that's what the message is. Please show your Christmas curtains! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI really have no idea what she was trying to tell me. She seemed very agitated. Then today when I was going out, felt something in my pocket and found the house key to my parents' house had come off my key chain. I've carried this key with me since I was 7 years old. Maybe the cardinal (Ma) was worried I lost the key and we wouldn't be able to get into the house. I don't know. As soon as the room is decorated, I'll post on the blog.
DeleteThat is really interesting CJ! It could have been about the key! Can't wait to see the room decorated!
