How Does Your Garden Grow?

While I was on Enders Island, Himself had a couple of visitors

Bare trees

Still brilliant color from the Leaf Lady's azaleas

The Japanese maple has turned color

Leaves

Leaves as far as the eye can see

The hydrangea leaves turned yellow

Berries on the honeysuckle vine

Heavy rains and wind on Halloween night brought down lots of branches. We lost electricity for a couple of hours when a tree fell on electric lines up the road a piece. We were lucky as electricity was restored in a couple of hours. The storm did lots of damage around the area with trees falling through people's homes 😱

The wind blew the cover off the turtle sandbox

One of the bunnies came out to silflay.

The wind took a few of the garden kites.

How does your garden grow?

  1. It is looking just like at my house. Lots of leaves down, a few branches... yesterday the hubby and I spent a good chunk of the day cleaning up our leaves. Welcome November. Enjoy this Sunday. It is going to get dark so early...oh my! Hugs-Erika

  3. Leaves, leaves everywhere. Squirrels, squirrels everywhere. They torture my old dog since he cannot move as fast as he once could.
    Lucky squirrels:)

    1. Poor pupper. I haven't seen the squirrels around the yard lately.

  4. That was some storm, glad you stayed safe and that the electricity came back quickly. My chrysanthemums have at last started flowering! Valerie

  5. It sounds like y'all got quite the storm! We've had more rain than usual, but it's sunny today with a high expected in the 60s. I don't remember seeing this many squirrels on our patio before. Pushy, aren't they lol

    1. Lots of wind, lots of rain. At least it wasn't lots of snow like we had in 2011. 😺

  6. The wind and leaves! I miss the smell of wet leaves and feeling of cold wind. Homesick for Midwest.

    1. I don’t like the cold and wet, but I do miss the smell of burning leaves when we were allowed to burn leaves

    1. I HATE Winter, too! 😺 We have deer around us. I've seen their footprints in the snow or signs they are eating shrubbery, but I rarely catch a glimpse of them

  8. You have a lot of downed leaves. The leaves here are just turning from green to DEAD. No color in between. Your trees have color and the ground is full of it, too.

Sorry to read about the downed line. Your electric company works a LOT faster than mine. Looks like you had a lot of damage. I hope all is well.

    1. The only leaves that are left on the trees are the oaks. They drop at the end of this month. I guess the electric company anticipated problems with this storm so had lots of crews on standby. Lucky for us

  9. We've had some windy days and the leaves really are falling.
Goodness, that was some storm. So pleased you stayed safe and thank goodness the electricity came back quite quickly.

At the moment it seems no matter where you live the weather continues to cause problems …

    All the best Jan

  11. Beautiful Fall colors. That deer looks like its color has darkened for the winter I guess. I'm glad your power was restored quickly. I always take electricity for granted until it goes out. I think there were a lot of power outages around me due to that Halloween storm, but at that point I was sick, so I didn't check the news, and only heard about it a few days later.
