The poppies required 5 layers of paint and the leaves 4 layers.
Kathy uses an ink over stippling technique to create shadow and detail. We did the stippling with a .01 Sakura Micron Pigma pen.
Graphite was also used to add shadows to the leaves and stems so the poppies appear to float off the final piece.
This is gorgeous CJ. I love seeing how you painted the poppies too. I haven't quite got shading down and I have to think about it when I go to do it. Yours looks so natural. Have a great start to your week. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI find shading hard, too. We had an example to follow and Kathy was there to help.
