T Stands for Black Cat Appreciation Day

Today is Black Cat Appreciation Day, and you can read about the holiday here. For me every day is Black Cat Appreciation Day.

Anne from Anne's Creative Cornucopia sent me a gorgeous, black cat postcard she created to celebrate the day. She also sent a link from the Farmer's Almanac with some interesting folklore about the holiday which they call Cat Nights Begin

If you have a cat companion, give him (her) an extra treat, cuddle, and a headbutt from me.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  1. My two may not be black, but they will take you at your word and celebrate the day. I will give both boys an extra Greenie today. Thanks for sharing Anne's cauldron, the black cats, and the celebration with us for T this Tuesday, CJ.

  4. We have a black stray here - always plops down in front of who´s willing to stop and wants a belly rub! So cute (I once read cats don´t like this, but this one... cutest cutie pie!)

    1. The belly pose is a display of affection. Poor little thing wants some attention.

  6. That's a beautiful cat mug. Is it a photo of your cat?
I had never heard of Black Cat Appreciation Day. Black cats are believed to bring bad luck here, and so black cats are not appreciated at all. So Black Cat Appreciatiobn Day is very much needed here in rural Spain. An excellent idea.
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

    1. Because of the same superstitions, black cats have the same reputation here, too. The black cat mug is just a generic kitty picture. Not my Ink.

  9. Happy black cat day CJ. And T day too. In my house it would be black dog day, since I have no cats right now. I think Pete would love a day for him. I'll have to check that, Anyhow...That is a gorgeous postcard from Anne. And I love all your black cat items like your screen saver and mug. Hope all is well and you have a bit of sunshine. hugs-Erika

  13. And who could be more deserving of having his/her own day than a black cat. I know that postcard will have a special place in your heart. It's wondrous.
Now we need an ornery cat day to celebrate Frank and Callie:)

    1. You have two opportunities to celebrate. International cat day is August 8 and National Cat Day is October 29. Though I think Black Cat Day should be in October.

  14. Yay for black cats! There's a black cat in the neighborhood who loves to spend his days in my garden. He's a real sweetheart and loves to get his belly rubbed. I love your black cat mug. Happy T day!
