Waiting for the christening party to begin, one couldn't help notice the Grand Niece's little kitchen in the corner of the living room. It brought back happy memories of my girlies, especially the Eldest, playing with the little kitchen we had that took up a corner of the living room.
I couldn't help smile at the happy teapot. Later on, one of G's male cousins came up to play with the kitchen. The tea set was brought out and there was lots of food prep as well as kitchen pieces all over the floor. Lots of pieces.
I had to laugh when The Nephew told me he spent a lot of time picking up scattered kitchen pieces after G plays. Trying to find all the pieces. Putting them all away. Trying to teach his daughter to put all the pieces away.
I remember doing that, too. And washing all the pieces every night. By the time the Young One came around, I gave up. A little dirt never hurt anyone.
Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang are up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.
Lovely post

DeleteCute. Ingo always flips when I drop (real) food, pick it up and munch away. By golly, I´m still alive!! :-)
ReplyDeleteHere we call that the 5 second rule. ๐บ
DeleteThat's a fabulous little kitchen. I can imagine kids having big fun with it. And yes, they need to learn to put things away. I evidently missed out on that when I was a kid, and I'm still chaotic! Happy T day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThe clean gene passed to my brother and to his son. It skipped me altogether ๐บ
DeleteBrings back memories of my girl when she was young too. I haven't seen that happy T pot though. That is so perfect for T day. Thanks for this photo/post and bringing back the memories. Happy T day CJ!
ReplyDeleteI was very tempted to take the little teapot home with me. ๐บ
DeleteWhat a fabulous take on T this week, CJ. I like how there are large cups near the sink and small cups and the teapot on the table. You certainly gave us a lot of great cups, saucers, a teapot, and happy grins in one sweet picture. Thanks for sharing this with us for T this Tuesday, dear.
ReplyDeleteApparently, the large cups by the sink are the ones that are missing.
DeleteThe play kitchens were always fun, weren't they! Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteThe little kitchen we had was well loved and well used
DeleteAh yes.....the difference between first child and second.....for the first when they drop their pacifier you rush to pick it up and run into the kitchen to boil it......when the second one drops their pacifier you stoop to pick it up, pop it in your own mouth and then hand it back to them! LOL :D
ReplyDeleteWe used to call the Young One "Short Change" as she got short-changed on a lot of things. ๐บ Hopefully, she won't read the comments
DeleteI love this! I remember the one I had as a little girl when they were made out of metal and not near as elaborate! Very cool!!
ReplyDeleteI had a little metal dollhouse with either 4 or 6 rooms. I had a Colorforms set of Miss Cookie's Kitchen that I absolutely loved.
DeleteLovely memories CJ. My niece also gave her little daughter a dollhouse, and well, she has several rooms full of things, like in a real house.
ReplyDeleteGood thing you were able to protect your garden from the hurricane. I hope the damages have been minimal.
The stamps that you show in the previous post are beautiful and interesting.
Have a great Wednesday, stay safe and big hugs
Caty
Thanks for thinking of me, Caty. We were very luck the storm wasn't as strong as predicted so no storm damage here.
DeleteSo so fun! Love the teapot๐
ReplyDeleteThe teapot caught my eye.
DeleteOh that is so cute! I never had anything like that. My mum hardly cooked. She disappeared for half an hour a day into the ice cold kitchen (sub zero temperatures sometimes) and quickly threw something together before my dad came home from work. So I never had a cooking role model and nobody thought of giving me a kitchen to play with as kitchens weren't fun at all.
ReplyDeleteBut I love that little kitchen of yours. Thanks for sharing it.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
My mother didn't like anyone in the kitchen with her while she cooked. I could watch her across a counter, but she wasn't very hands on. She made me take cooking and sewing (I hated it) in jr. high school and she gave me a children's cookbook.
DeleteOh my, isn't that kitchen adorable! I've never seen anything like this, it has everything she'll need - amazing ๐. Wishing you a very happy T Day! Hugs Jo x
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen is a lot more elaborate than the one my girlies had 30 years ago.
Deletethat kitchen is nicer than mine !!!! remember easy bake oven :) ♥♥☺☺
ReplyDeleteI didn’t have one of those
DeleteThat looks a very nice little kitchen :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Fancier than mine
DeleteWhat a cute little kitchen. Just way too fun.
ReplyDeleteEspecially when you don’t have to pick up all the little pieces ๐บ
DeleteLittle kitchens and Happy Teapots. Definitely smile worthy.
ReplyDeleteGood memories;)
Simpler, happy times
DeleteThose little kitchen sets make me SO happy! My daughter has one in turquoise and it's pretty much the only toy she has. She loves playing with it and it will make me sad the day she stops playing with it.
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful that you have a little person in your life that you can have a tea party and picnic with!
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Yes, it’s nice to be able to relive memories
DeleteSo sweet and precious. Love that happy teapot and the lovely memories you shared. My girls loved playing with their sets. Wish I could back for an hour and play with them again. Thanks for sharing! Hugz
ReplyDeleteEveryone prepares your for the excitement of the firsts: first tooth, first word, first steps... but no one prepares you for the lasts.
DeleteThat's a very cute little kitchen and tea pot.
ReplyDeletebest... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I really wanted to take the little teapot home.
DeleteVery sweet ~ I love that tea pot and it even sings and teaches manners "More Please" and "Thank you" etc. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know the teapot talks and sings songs. So cute.
DeleteMy Granddaughter had something similar - with lots of pretend food - it used to get everywhere - but what fantastic pretend meals we got to eat!!! Belated happy T day, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteps may I add you to my side bar?
And the memories you made while playing with her.
DeleteWhat a sweet post this is. I remember a similar kitchen furnishing that our daughter had, and then even a more extensive one that our granddaughter had! Sweet memories. Happy belated T Day!
ReplyDeleteThey seem to get more and more elaborate as time goes on.
DeleteI love that little kitchen! I want one! LOL! So cute! Love the tea pot! Big Hugs!
