We had some nice weather this week. Sunny, warm. Too nice to work in the studio. So I decided I would work on the Inktober challenge in the sun room. After all, there won't be many days left with sunshine and warm temps. When I hang out in the sun room to draw or paint for fun, I usually turn the television on. I usually watch the original Star Trek. It's a show that I've seen so many times, I don't have to really pay attention to the story. It's just on for some background noise.
After 3 or 4 episodes this message from Amazon Prime popped up. (Netflix does the same thing, too)
The message really irks me. I have to interrupt what I'm doing (even if it's just sacking out on the sofa) to get the remote and enter "yes" or "no". Why should a streaming service or network care whether my television is running 24/7, and I'm wasting electricity? It's not like they are paying the electric bill.
I get the same message popping up on my TV, it's very annoying! I also like to have TV or radio or a book being read when I'm crafting. I thought I was the only one getting this strange pop up. Have a great day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt's not just you
DeleteI'm with you when that pops up. Well yes. Why else would I still have the TV on? It feels chilly today. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteYup, it was chilly when I took the trash out. No crocks today.
DeleteI agree 100%!!!!!! 😡
ReplyDeleteIf they were paying the electric bill or even the streaming service bill, they might have a legitimate gripe.

Deleteoriginal star trek is the ONLY star trek; well, least in my book....
ReplyDeletehaven't had tv hooked up in close to 8 years; not even free local....why IS the station showing that message....that's gotta be irritating ~~~~ ☺☺♥♥
the other series were ok, but they can't compete with the original
DeleteI so rarely watch TV so do not see this message ...
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I should probably follow your example
DeleteThe original Star Trek is a real treat, and I'm happy younger audiences can see where it all came from. I'm loving Discovery, too, and am thrilled the story continues :)
ReplyDeleteTrue words. Why would they care. Big Brother is watching you?
ReplyDeleteThat's stupid! I agree!
