Fun Facts About the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

 


Designated in 1941, the state bird is the Black Capped Chickadee, and it's a year round resident.

  1. I love how chickadees are so interactive. Compared to most wild birds who fly off. It was a good pick for a state bird. Ours in NH is the purple finch, which has a really pretty song. Happy weekend.

  3. We have those here - and I've spent many moments photographing them - but they fly away quick if they see you watching them. at least here. But then we had quite a few outside cats at one time hanging outl

  4. We get chickadees, but they are seasonal on our patio. They are such fun to watch! Our state bird is the mockingbird.
