Fun Facts About the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
In 1993, the baked navy bean was designated as the official state bean of Massachusetts. In colonial times, Boston became famous for its baked beans and earned the nickname "Beantown"
School children around the state have petitioned for various animals, foods, to be official state things. I think the process to teach children how laws are passed.
I grew up in Pa and NJ area.. I LOVE me some baked beans!!! My TX husband is not a huge fan of them though... Down here its all about pinto beans... Hubby has to REALLY doctor up his pinto beans for me to eat them.. I didn't know that about Mass. but the name Bean Town sounds familiar though.. Hugs! deb
