I'm going to be spending time on the phone with the bank where I used to have an account and a safety deposit box.
In April, I received a letter that the bank was discontinuing safety deposit boxes. I went to the bank, removed the contents of the box. Returned the key and closed out the account.
I'll be asking the service rep on the phone, why I received a bill to renew the safety deposit box when 1) the bank discontinued the safety deposit boxes, 2) my box was closed out and the key returned 3) since I closed out the bank account, I'm technically no longer a customer of the bank.
Whatcha doin?
Ugh. Those little hassles in life! Always a bill to check up on. My husband swears they do it on purpose and hope that we're all too tired to call and argue.
ReplyDeleteI think you're husband is right
DeleteI'll be thinking about you....and sending patience vibes....just in case! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteGood luck with the bank. I'm glad you can talk to an actual person to deal with the issue.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to decide if "Raging Bull" is a movie I actually wanna watch... Having coffee, watching the local morning news, and keeping an eye on the weather.
Was that tornado anywhere near you?
The 2 that touched down in Massachusetts were on the Cape, far from my area. Earlier in the morning, there was a tornado warning with rotation happening above my town and moving North. I was just getting on the road to go visit Teague, but we turned around and spent about 15 or 20 min. in the basement until the warning was lifted.
DeleteI'm glad it didn't touch ground where you are. Tornadoes are so unpredictable!
DeleteSomehow there are always complications! Today I had 2 appointments with lots of tests and examinations. Had to travel by train into town, Dusseldorf is always so loud. Now I'm home, feet up, and that's great! Valerie
ReplyDeleteHome, quiet, feet up sounds the perfect way to spend the rest of the day after appointments and running around in the city
DeleteI used to have one of those phones! I hope all goes well CJ! Stick to your guns! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteIt was actually easier than the worst case scenario I had played out in my head. 😺
DeleteEver get the feeling that no one these days knows they are doing anymore? You got this! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat was my first thought. That even though they discontinued safety deposit boxes. No one bothered to remove the auto-bill safe deposit program. Customer Service very nice. Advised to just ignore. All well and good, but I shouldn't have had to call the bank
DeleteSounds like a better outcome than you originally anticipated. I've found in business the left hand often doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
ReplyDeleteI always do a worst case scenario. Usually, the outcome is never as bad as imagined
DeleteThe children and grandchildren had one of those fun phones :)
ReplyDeleteHope all was sorted at the bank.
We had a sunny day today and enjoyed a walk.
All the best Jan
Yup, it got all straightened out
DeleteDoesn't that drive you nuts? I run into the same thing when I try to discontinue services. Ack.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I wish companies would be more mindful about the policies they put in place
DeleteI bet it's all just in the computer that someone hasn't taken care of. But what a pain. I hope it all went well.
ReplyDeleteNot really the computer, but someone didn't disable the program the runs the renewal lists
