T Stands For And Now They Are Mine

The Eldest finally got an appointment to change her driver's license from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts. This was the second appointment because there was an administrative problem the first time around.

Her choices for the appointment were either Nantucket (which would have been nice for a weekend getaway), New Bedford, or Southbridge. No appointments available in Worcester close by. So off to Southbridge.

After taking care of her business at the Registry of Motor Vehicles, we stopped for brunch/lunch at Cracker Barrel.

We were browsing in the gift shop and saw this giant mug. The cup was huge and had to hold at least 16 or 20 oz.

Most of the displays were for Christmas. I liked this grouping of cardinals. I was disappointed there were not more Halloween decorations around.  Behind the Christmas display was one table of Halloween items, mostly from The Nighmare Before Christmas and then I saw

the black cat and Jack O'Lantern salt and pepper shakers

And now they are mine.

Drop by hosts, Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog to find out what the rest of the T Stands For gang is up to. If you want to play, include in your Tuesday post a beverage or container for a beverage. Don't forget to link your blog to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's page.

  1. I need that big mug filled with caffeine morning-yawn. Wow, are they that short handed at the registry? Nantucket would be nice to get away but that's not a lot of spots available when you think about the entire state. And nice you were able to get some lunch and a ride out. I hope you have a nice T day and some breaks of sun too. hugs-Erika

  2. Very fun salt-pepper set! I think Halloween gets the short end of retail displays, and then there’s often NOTHING at all for Thanksgiving. I haven’t taken out my Halloween stuff yet, maybe I’ll skip this year.

    1. I wish we could celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving first before all the Christmas hoopla starts

  4. So cool CJ... I can usually find one thing that HAS to come home with me from CrackerBarrel..lol.. I'm really kinda glad there is not one in my town. I usually only go there when i'm on a trip or vacation i'll find one.. The last item that HAD to come home with me was an enamel pill holder of an owl. Gorgeous. I have noticed a lack of Halloween decor in places i usually find it.. Ofcourse Walmart has an over abundance but other places not so much.. Hugs! deb

    1. I haven't been to Walmart. Target and Micheal's didn't have much to write home about

  5. That sounds complicated with the driver's license. I like that huge mug, that would be the right thing for me! Hugs, Valerie

  6. You have driver´s licenses per state?!
Mine is for Europe and it doesn´t matter where I live! Mine is valid till 07/2034...
    Love the salt & pepper.
    Have a great T-Day!

    1. In the US each state (all 50) issues their own license. Each state has its own rules and regulations though some states all have the same (like making a right turn when the light is red, unless there's a sign stating no right turn on red). In Massachusetts, a license is good for 5 years before it needs to be renewed. You only have to take a written test and a driving test when you first get your license (in most states at the age of 16, some at 14). You can travel to any state with your license. When your license needs to be renewed, you need to take an eye test and pass at the Registry or Department of Motor Vehicles, at least in Massachusetts

  7. Aw....they remind me of my grandparents S&P shaker collection! Grandma told me they got them at 'dish nights' at the movies. I would have liked to have inherited them. (My fav was the fat little smiling tomato! LOL)

    1. Ma talked about dish nights and got her dishes and stemware at dish night. Who inherited Grandma's salt and pepper shakers?

  8. oh the salt and pepper shakers! Love them! My big cat mug holds about 16oz (had to do a quick conversion) but yeah about the same. Sometimes I use the blender cup for my stick blender and get double that haha, but at least it's decaf. Thanks for your visit today. Happy T Day! Elle xx

  9. Great salt and pepper shaker set! I prefer a little mug/cup but still got a kick out of that huge mug. Happy T Tuesday! (Chrome is still working for all the blogs I was having trouble with.)

    1. I prefer a smaller mug/cup to a giant one. Though the saying on the giant mug made me laugh. Glad you were able to publish your comment

  10. Those are some fun salt and pepper shakers! I have noticed a lot of stores shortened up the Halloween decorations and shelf time this year - sad as I love them. That mug looks super fun. Interesting you have to make appointments for driver's license changes. Around here you show up and take a number (if anyone is ahead of you). We renewed our car tags today and there were only 4 customers in the building so it was fast. Interesting to see how things are different for all of us. Happy T-day and hugz to you CJ

  11. I too moved from PA to MA years ago. Marlborough and Framingham would most certainly have DMV offices! Great apple orchards in nearby Stow too.

  12. Wow. That mug is about the same size as my large covered WSU mug. I drink at least four of them a day. Yes, I'm a caffeine addict.

The cardinals were awesome, but I was glad to see there were a few Halloween items. Nice that you got the black cat and pumpkin. I would expect nothing less.

Thanks for sharing your new cat and pumpkin, the cardinals, and that large mug with us for T this Tuesday, dear CJ.

    1. The cardinals were very pretty and I was tempted with them, too, until I saw the black cat.

  13. Love that cup! That is my problem with little teacups and most mugs. None of them hold a decent amount for someone who drinks all day. I don't want to have to take a refill break every few sips.
The Christmas display is really pretty. It is hard to believe it is that time of year again.
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  14. That is a huge cup indeed! The black cat is sweet, that would have tempted me as well. Sorry for being a day late.

  15. Browsing in the gift shop is always fun, and that giant mug sounds impressive! A 16 or 20 oz. capacity? Now that's a serious coffee or tea commitment!
The Christmas displays sound enchanting, especially the cardinals! Thanks for all these sharing. Happy belated T-Tuesday!
